We are europe

Team Europe has fantastic shooters and I enjoy watching them, they are great!

Team USA not as good with the current format.

But, you guys got kicked in the butt and left America.

When you turned your back on Israel for oil money you ceased being a world power.

Would a Team England, Team Germany, Team France, Team Sweden, .etc. beat Team USA, I doubt it.

So, you cherry pick from all over Europe for a team.

You guys got so tired of Team USA beating your butt you had to change the rack and rack the 9 on the spot before you could win.

Put the 9 back where it belongs when you play in America and see how that goes.

Please don't act like your invincible on a level playing field.

If you think you are try playing a Team Asia with the same format.

I know who I would bet on.

It is named after an American player, gotta love that boys!

But, individually, they are for the most part, true professionals and a joy to watch!

It's USA versus Europe because USA is just about the same size as Europe of course we should best any one of those countries by themselves because New York is bigger than all of England.

New York bigger than England??? Get your facts straight!
The format is there because someone made it successful. And it orginates in a time where the US could take all of Europe and win. Probably not so anymore. We will see.

Still enjoy watching it.

UK team: Appleton, Shaw and Gray are already there, add in Boyes and Melling and I'd pick them over this USA team.

New York (US) (141,299 km²) is 1.08 times as big as England (130,400 km²).

Might be my english. I thought population, because people compete and not cows.
Would have been interesting (and boring) to see new mexico compete with germany (which has a simmelar size but vastly different number of inhabitants 2:80)

Yeah yeah!! Not fair blah blah!!

There are more pool players in the USA than in Europe by a country mile. Not our fault that ya'll just aren't very good.

And please, don't comment about Brexit, unless you know the difference between the EU and Europe.

OK, I am off to pick my nose :P

There are maybe 300 9-ball players in the UK. It's hard to describe how niche of a game American pool is over here.

Exactly  Also i think there are other 3 european countries that wouldnt be huge underdogs against USA alone (Netherlands, Germany, Poland)

... and yet a Team UK of Appleton, Shaw, Peach, Gray and Boyes would likely be favored over Team USA.

Your right.

They are better then us. Their teams always look like a "Who's Who" of the pool world.

Other then Shane who on our team is a top world player? Maybe Rodney?

But, we have more guns and we will keep them!

I'm always surprised to see Americans bring up Rodney's name in answer to question like this. I'd say he's your weakest link.

In terms of this format, Bergman is your strongest player. SVB and Woodward have strengths and weaknesses (I think Woodward gets a little overrated on here due to his age). Dechaine is too loose with his cue ball against the players in the Euro team, but still capable of winning matches through his shot making. Morris is waaay too loose with his cue ball, not up to is scratch in terms of safety, has mistakes/misses in him, and has terrible shot selection.

That's how I see it anyway. The Euros can afford one or maybe even two players having a bad week - the US team need everyone to play well to win.

Well,

England = 50,346 mi²

New York = 54,556 mi²

About your other point, you are spot on, but you can't think AZBers care about actual facts.

Sad thread, we play bad, soooooooooooo, let's make fun of Europeans if we can't beat them. Really?

he started it :(

"we are europe... we do what we want."

not at all antagonistic, right?

is it sadder to kick a person when they're down, or to kick back at a person who's up, kicking you when you're down?

it's all in good fun.

but, for the life of me, i don't know where fans and spectators come-up with this "we" stuff.

No offence taken here, all in good fun. That was the chant last year in Vegas at the MC :)

Yes, Brexit should change the complexion of the Mosconi Cup, I would think!..Maybe a completely new order of competition should be considered?..
Brexit is not about GB leaving Europe. It is about them leaving the EU. There have been non EU players in the European Mosconi cup team before. If you really want me to, I will go look them up (again).

For the last several years, it has been heavily loaded against the U.S.!..Perhaps a radical change should be put in place.

How so?
