Well, I hate to start another Meucci thread, BUT.....

I am most likely the biggest hater of Meucci due to MY experience with them when it comes to Playability as well as Quality.
I can not say that this Pro Series isn't going to be good but I will say be cautious. Meucci made the same claims about deflection before and Predator as well as OB still out do them.
Unless The Almighty Jesus Christ himself appeared to me with this Meucci in hand and said all Meucci problems were fixed I would stay away.
And even then they would still most likely play like Sh*t!!!

They do look sweet. Wounder if they stole a page from my buddy good ole Mr Dean? Dean delivers on his promises. Until you try it you never know. They have the right platform. Mueccies always over hit everything and moving the ball was never a problem. You always had to play great to be able to shoot good with a Mooch.

Well I like the look of the Pro-2 but not for $1250. I have shot with my friends power piston Meucci and in all honesty thought it wasn't bad. Had a bit of a dead feeling in the shaft but once I got used to it I could do everything I wanted. I realize this is a "new" cue from Meucci with some other kind of shaft as it doesn't have the black dot so if you really want it go for it. Just realize the resale value here on AZ is probably not going to be good at all. People here are just too cautious because of their well deserved rep.
And lastly, I don't know whats up with that marketing ploy of an "APA 6" or "a 5 against the ghost" but stuff like that kind of pushes me away. What is a "5 against the ghost" anyways? Never heard of that.

It comes with the same dead A$$ black dot shaft as any other Meucci. You can put a dress and lipstick on a pig but at the en of the day it's still a pig!!
Interesting marketing ploy, though. I'll bet you start seeing those around...likely in the hands of guys with more cash than sense...and who can't run three balls. Once upon a time, you used to see road players and some pros who preferred Meucci cues, back in the 80s you saw them EVERYWHERE...Bob should figure out when and why that changed. The original sneaky pete was a beast.
Price point 750 and 1250?? WOW that seems kinda steep even at MSRP for 4 broke down uneven points...Meucci is the perfect Cinderella story...You always want to hope against hope that they will turn around and retain what they once were. I have had a bunch of Meuccis in the late 80s and 90s and really liked them....ANYMORE the quality is just to low to really justify spending that kind of money on for me.

Awesome propaganda. Imagine how many APA sixes will be delighted to here that they now qualify for sponsors as pro players.

And I'm a Meucci lover and play with one...but the cost is just too funny.:smile:
That is literally, the worst marketing idea ever... you don't want to ever tell potential customers that they don't want to buy your product... why would you even think that's a good idea?

Marketing doesn't always target everyone. It never says you must be a pro to buy it. It says if you aren't an apa 6 or higher it is "too much cue for you". They are calling you out. I think it is brilliant..
I don't think any product has claimed it would make you into a pro. That would be ludicrous....

I too have been very skeptical of Meucci. Lots of production problems for several years. However, I talked with Bob Meucci and Buddy Hall at the Derby and these cues are the real deal (or at least the one he brought to the Derby were). I hit some balls with one and I really liked the way that it hit. The cues have a 12.5 inch pro taper and Bob has returned to the old ABS ferrules. I told Mr. Meucci that this was the wisest thing he has done in several years. Most people do not like the dotted shafts. These cues do not have dotted shafts and they are much meatier the old 14-16 inch taper G-10 pins are also a nice touch. Cue even comes with your choice of Morri or Kamui tips. Parica was also trying one out. He said he liked it too.
