Well I noticed about 100 members on here on the 4th, so I thought I would ask what are you all doing today. Might be interesting to find out.
To make it pool related, I am thinking about going into my room to check things out.
Me , I just finished watching the Giants get a rare victory on the road. Bonds sat but we got quite a few home runs anyway. Next is the pool and some steak and sausage.
I live in Santa Cruz, Ca. and it is beautiful today, at 75 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. But fireworks watchers are worrying about the fog making an appearance tonight. I will stay home and protect my German Shepard and Siberian Husky. The husky could care less but Suki is real hyper. So tell us guys and gals, what u doing?

I'm at work, yes I did play 2 races to 7 9 ball, and it is hot as hades here in FLA. I had a fairly busy day at the poolroom, I guess it was too hot for for my customers too!

Just woofed 2 large sausage burgers from the grill with peppers , onions and cheddar, watching The Miz play straight from my acu-stats archive , heading out to shoot some straight pool with fresh images in my mind on how its supposed to be done, won't help though , seems I forget from here to there :(

I am on my way to my neighbors, across the river (I live on the Cosumnes River in the heart of Gold Country about 15 mi so. of Placerville). We have a great group of neighbors along the river & 16 or 18 will show up to BBQ, drink beer and jump in the river to cool off. Tomorrow could be a little rough, but I will be in good shape for monthly one pocket at Hard Times on Saturday. John Henderson

Just another day around here, but HAPPY 4TH OF JULY / INDEPENDENCE DAY to my friends to the south.

Dave, recently celebrated Canada Day with a barbeque and a few beers

Happy 4th of July to all...and special thanks to those serving us on this day.

This thread made me feel guilty...after I move the lawn sprinklers, I think Cindy & I will go out in search of a bar box for a few hours of casual play.

I opened my pool room today just like normal. I suspect that I will close around 8 or 9 pm, because business will taper off by then for the fireworks displays. So far, business has been good today, I sold 3 cues, lots of beer, I suppose people do not want to deal with the heat, so an air-conditioned pool room is just what the doctor ordered.

Happy 4th of July to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Nice room Manwon. I drove to Vegas early this morn. Now I'm kicking at my friends pad watching him go off online playing poker. He's still learning.

Hit some balls on his table, and had a dip in the pool. It's only 110 out here today. Like walking out into an oven. Ah, the beauty of Vegas in the Summer. You can have it. If it wasn't for the WSOP I wouldn't be here now.

I feel bad about mising Dave Piona's Memorial service tomorow. What a great guy!!!! I loved Dave. When you walked into a room and he saw you, he would give you a smile like you were his long lost best friend. And to him, YOU WERE. He was one of the few guys who would give you a big warm hug in the poolroom.

I thought a lot about Dave driving over here. He was one of my best friends in Pool, and I never realized it. There will action in Heaven now! The Piranha has arrived! Move over God!

It's hot & humid here today. I played about 3 hours of pool in about 4 different sessions interrupted by several sessions online, two rides in the hot rod w/the dog and an AA meeting. Relaxing day.

Ahhh, Santa Cruz, CA. Beautiful town.

Jay got me thinking about Dave Piona. He used to be the house man at Santa Cruz Billiards (no longer in business) about 10 years ago. The locals took an instant liking to him. I had met him before his gig there but really got to know him afterward. Like others have said on another thread, he had a magnetic personality. I'd say he was one of my favorite people in the game.

Jay, I am sorry to here about your friend, I have also had a recent loss and pne thing that is certain it never gets easier. Have a great 4th of July Jay!!!!

No pool on the 4th for me. Stayed home & cooked a big chunk of brisket with a great BBQ marinade. I joked to my wife that it was the final capitulation of the British Empire, having the Englishman cook for the Americans on July 4th! I'm glad I did though, it tasted great!!!!!:D

Pool will be back on the menu tomorrow with a visit to a local 9 ball tourney. I can only stay away for so long.

Happy 4th everybody!!

My family and I BBQ on July 3rd, which is also a holiday in the Virgin Islands (the end of slavery in the Virgin Islands took place on July 3, 1848). So today, having already belted out the calories ala Fatty, I just relaxed during the day and went out to practice this evening. I began doing the Hopkins Q-Skill thing for the first time, and it seems a bit too easy for a reliable rating system. I did the first ten racks today and I MIGHT tell you guys the final score after 50 racks. If it turns out that the number is too high I might have to underreport the score.:D

A belated happy 4th to all American posters!

I actually played pool and hung out at the pool hall all day, lol... I'd have preferred snuggling under a blanket with a cute girl and flash fireworks overhead... but this wasn't all bad.

I played four hours yesterday. It was rainy here and there was quite a few people in the pool room. Best thing I saw was a few father and son duo's playing together....oh and of course a few really hot babes too:D:D

Jay,
I hear Phoenix is hotter (117)-- my kids are just hanging out in the a/c and pool. There is a nice video tribute to Dave on www.onthebreaknews.com if you are interested. Take care. For the 4th, I did a little work, visited with daughter, son in law, and grandkids, had a hamburger with Arizona watermelon, and Montana fireworks. If you live in Montana you know what I mean. You go to one of a zillion firework vendors, spend a fortune, and about 10 pm you shoot off everything and anything --- at the same time all you neighbors are doing the same thing --- you see fireworks 20 miles away --- just unreal.
