Last year I was on a Platinum team for 8ball, very disappointed about only 14 teams.
This year I put together a Gold team so we could have many more matches to play. Not to mention better chance at bigger payday.....
Thanks SB.....good to see 8 ball and 9 ball singles up (although I remember when my friend won the single event years ago, it had 1578 players in the Open division). Bad that team events are still dwindling by 8% or greater. Maybe someday the BCAPL will fix it as I loved going to this event. Not going for the first time since 1998 myself.
Two things about the team numbers.....
1. I was too lazy to count the Mixed Gold team names from the 20+ pages of entrants so this figure is an estimate. Could be plus/minus 5.
2. The team numbers will continue to grow as TBD teams get filled in.
That always confuses me with a deadline how there are TBD teams

We got second out of 422 teams last year, played each day at 9AM and played 14 hours straight the last day and got paid $5,000. Good luck on that bigger payday.
Shame to continually see team counts dwindle every year...... lots of people I have spoke with would like to get away from the Rio and not play in the middle of summer..(prime family vacation time)..
Did the counts for teams also include USAPL? or just BCAPL? Since that event is going at the same time and are both CSI events.
Good point. Perhaps some of the BCAPL numbers loss is partially contributed by a growth of USAPL? Don't play USAPL so I have no knowledge of the numbers involved. Do you or any other poster on this thread know if you "buy" a USAPL franchise. Is it more like the BCAPL where you have a territory but do not "own" it.
