What are your most, and least favorite Cue accessories

Tip Pik - much better than a scuffer (doesn't remove leather) - I use this the most
Ultimate Tip Tool - only for occasional re-shaping (never for burnishing - pops tips off)
Moosehead Bridge - just in case the poolhall bridges are dangerous to my shaft
New Masters Chalk - just in case the poolhall stuff is drilled out
That Plastic Sandpaper Stuff - only for occasional shaft smoothing

Pretty much my list as well... but an additional comment... with layered tips (Talisman Pro Mediums) on my players, I rarely use the Tip Pik and the Ultimate... but I carry 'em nonetheless.

a 20 year old tip-tapper and a few pieces of chalk and a bottle of powder is all i need, the rest is rubbish.

I only carry 5 things in my case that I could never live without when going to the pool room:

1. Master Chalk

2. Chameleon Rack

3. Atrox Tip Tool

4. Glove

5. Measles Cueball

I've used layered tips exclusively for years, and have never had a problem using the Tip Pik. Others have said they worry about "ruining" layered tips with it, but I think that's because they didn't know how to use it - I think they were pressing it in and then twisting (no!) rather than just tapping the tip with it.

I rarely use the Ultimate shaper, but only because I don't want to remove leather very often, not because I have layered tips.

I keep a Tip Tapper in my all my cases, and a Pocket Chalker, those get the most use. In my other cases I also keep a Shaft slicker and a pack of shaft papers.

The only thng I ever bought that I did not use much was a magnetic chalker, but the cover is great for the pocket chalker.:D

2. Chameleon Rack

lol for like a weapon or something? You seriously use that? ugh.

Anyway I use just the ultimate tip tool because i love the tapper side of it and I carry my own blue master chalk. Never really shape the tip or anything.

Hate powder and people who put the chalk upside down.

I should have made it clear cuebacca that I carry it in a seperate bag.

Hehe. Sorry, man. I just got a kick out of picturing the suit case with a bunch of stuff in it. :)

totally cool cubacca, hey listen maybe you could answer this for me what is it that people have against the chameleon rack cos I have been using it for 2 years on different condtion tables and it works fantastic so why the annoyance with it.

You want to hear a list of thing in a case...mines like a purse.

I carry at all times.
- 3 Chalk Holders (1 leather, 2 plastic)
- 6 extra Triangle chalk (Blue and Green)
- Allen key (6 different Weight bolts for several makes of cues)
- 5 pieces of different grit sand paper
- Cue Caddy - 3 cue
- Tony Ryan cue extender
- Tiger Leather Corona bridge head
- 3 Pens
- BCA rules (9ball, 8ball, General rules) (shrinked down to fit in the case pocket)
- 3 Towels (1 on the case, 2 in the cue compartment)
- Small bottle of Baby powder
- Pkg Micro Cue papers
Plus Jump Butt, Playing cue with 2 shafts, Break cue with two shafts.

Now that I have typed this out....it seems like a little to much!

Am I the only one who keeps chapstick in his case? I also carry nail clippers...........you never know:)

To be honest, I think it's just pure skepticism, although I can't speak for anyone else specifically. I've never tried it, so when push comes to shove, it wouldn't be fair for me to knock it.

Just looking at it, I don't understand how it can solve the problems created by the beat-up rack area of the cloth and/or unevenly warn balls.

I think it got bad reviews at the U.S. Open, but if it works for you, it could be that the players just weren't taught how to use it correctly.

I know the Sardo has been dissed on here, but I own one. When setup and used properly it's great. I've had one for a few months now, and my table breaks really easy because of it. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure that if I took it down to the ratty cloth at my local poolhall, I'd drive myself nuts trying to get a tight rack with it.

If the Chameleon really does give tight racks on used cloth with no break-in, that would be very impressive.

Well cuebacca from my point of view it works great on worn tables cos the club I play in is rotten for good table conditions and as you say cuebacca if people learned to use the chameleon rack properly I think players would see a big difference in how it works when breaking.

whats in my case

4 cubes new masters chalk
moose bridge head
soft rag that i totally soaked 1 side with pledge, it keeps cues super smooth, use the other side to buff the wood, laffin
some spare quarters to flip for the break and keep score.

the most annoying accessories : a guy that played league in florida had a retractable key chain. he would show up 30 minutes before the match. he would tip tap, turn the shaper upside down and grind all his tips down, tap some more, all while they jingles on his key chain.he had 3 cues, jump , break and playing cue. he then hangs this collection back on his belt and continued to shoot. it drove me nuts.
i walked over to him one day and asked to use his tools, i took them and tossed them in the trash, he laughed and thought it was funny. he went and fished them out. this fool had to go through a tip a week the way he grinded those poor little pieces of leather down.

oh well,

PAt
