Hi
this is my first post
Im interested to buy custom cue but with affordable price
my budget is 500 us dollar, what brand of custom cue can do made a cue with point and inlay and have solid and sweet hit ?

how about Dominiak Cues and Bob Meucci custom cues( Pro series cues )
they said have good hitting cues but too plain, im boring with plain cue
if you choose which one better Dominiak custom cues or Bob Meucci custom cues ?
and how about RJ Hsu cue ?

any suggestion beside that brand ?

Thanks for help :)

i prefer the schon cues over any other so called production cue
and almost every custom cue

almost every great player has played with them at one time

One cue is not right for everyone . Schon is the very best , but I have had some that didn't shoot as well as other Schons . No all cues are the same . If shone is out of your price bracket try some McDermotts . Completely different style of cue , but still a very good cue . Jim

Dale Perry on eBay. I got mine for cheaper than production pricing.
Hits as good as my back up Falcon and back up stock Joss and cheaper than either of them.

I really don't think the question makes sense at all. I don't think it can be answered in any reasonable way. People aren't even going to be able to agree on what a custom or production cue is.

The plain truth is you are asking for the cheapest customs.

Even then you will see confusion because people can't agree on what a custom is.

What are you looking for?

Contact Brian Mordt, his cues are flawless, his wood choice is awesome,
and they play real friggin nice. For 500 you'll get a great cue and better
yet, you'll be supporting a great guy.

Agree with ChopDoc

I agree with ChopDoc...

What are you looking for? I've had production cues and custom cues, and depending on the construction techniques used, it'll make a big difference...

Now, before I get savaged, it is the Indian, not the arrow... but doggone it, certain features make this Indian more comfortable.

So, a couple of questions you may want to answer for yourself (and those answers will lead you in certain directions). In no particular order:
1. What do you currently shoot with? What do you like/dislike about it?
2. What weight/balance do you like?
3. Do you have a particular look you find more pleasing (most people seem to shoot better with a cue they appreciate/value)?
4. Tip/Ferrule combination... personally I go for Harder ferrule/softer tip, but what combinations have you tried if any?
5. Joint - Flat Faced vs. Piloted does make a touch of a difference. Additionally, if you own any or want to use any aftermarket shafts, this (and the pin chosen) may matter.
6. Handle - Do you like wrapless linen, leather (in it's many incarnations)?

At the end of the day finding people who'll let you shoot with a few different things to try and answer your questions will go a long way OR a custom cue maker who can sit down with you and discuss what it is you are looking for will go along way to finding your holy grail

I personally have spent some coin over the years and am just finally finding sticks that suit me better and better (and it certainly wasn't about the price).

My $0.02 and YMMV.

Good luck and good hunting.

Thanks all for answer my question
I had a Dominiak cue. It is a nice shooting stick, sold it to a team mate who is still using it. Bill has great customer service and stands behind what he builds.

Look at Rat cues from Muellers, not super fancy but real nice shooting cues.

This is first time i hear RAT cues
how is hitting ?

Cuemakers I've dealt with that have cues in that range...

Al Bautista, a great pinoy cuemaker that's cues play lights out...might be 500+, depends on woods...

Larry Vigus makes another killer stick for 500+...my daily Hoppe, but more than what you're talking about spending.

Jim Baxter also comes to mind...

Send these folks a pm telling them what you're looking for and see what they have say.

Schon, Jacoby, Baxter, Madden, Sly, Frey and several other makers' respective cues Martin has up at www.superiorcues.com that you can put on LAYAWAY! Then again, there are several Production cues that run up into the $1000+ range, so I'm just suggesting cues within the ~$350-600 realm.
