What Break Cue to buy now?

I did get a lesson on breaking recently. I've been breaking really well this year and it got me a far as I got at White Diamonds. I just need to learn to shoot. :p

mezz break cues are phenomenal...i like the pb2 (the short one) the best. i've got it paired with a deep impact pro shaft....fantastic combination!

I have PB2 with both the DIP R and H shaft. Both play excellent. Hard to beat.

i really like the mezz ob di2 and i also like the base ball bat shafts that a local cue maker Mike Yingling makes.. they hit really solid.

Is putting a break shaft on a butt that is just laying around worth it or is it better to spend the extra $150 and buy a whole cue?

depends how much you like that butt.. i dont see any problem with it if it works.. i just put a white diamond tip on my cheep action cue and have been breaking great with it.. but thats just temp till i get my custom cue in..

I have an an X-breaker that I want to identifie how do I know what generation it is?

I'm not an expert, I think the differences are in the bumper, finish, tip, and maker, not sure, so what I would suggest is go to the AZB "Wanted/For Sale" forum and do a forum search for "xbreaker", and look at all those that have sold in the past. Some of each generation are there.

edit: I got curious and found this post, it has some good information...

Richard's X-breaker before Samsara had quick-release for the 2nd joint but not first.
Those had metal rings. X-breaker words on the shaft and joint were supposed to matchup.
The 2nd generation basically just got the special x-breaker bumper

Richard got Samsara to make 3rd generation of X-breakers, those had same pins, not quick-release.
No wording anywhere.
I’m not sure about the shafts but if I remember correctly Richard told me that Samsara didn’t make the shafts.

All, X-breakers have special raisin tip, blue/green see-through in color.
The 2nd and 3rd generations have the special bumper with x-breaker on it.

There are pictures on the net.

What generation X-Breaker is this?

Here are some pics of my X-Breaker.I'm hopping someone can help me find out what generation it is.And possibly the value.

The writing on the shaft says 195,I cant read what the other one says.I believe it's Richards initials.

The bumper is a replacement I'm not sure if it's what the cue came with.

The break cue joint is a quick release.

Original Irish linen wrap

The tip is the green fiberglass resin type,I believe it's called G10.It's the original tip.
