What Color is your Cloth?

Just curious..

There are millions of blue tables and just as many green tables for those who want to be strictly traditional.

But tell me about your colors, do you have something different? Purple?

I have had blue and wine colored cloth. My wife did not like how the these colors looked in the room. So now I use tan cloth. It is easy on the eyes and the tan chalk doesn't make a mess. The tan looks great with most any room decor so my wife likes it. I don't think I will ever use a different color. It works for me and keeps the wife happy!

Well, if you want really funky.. I can get you some black cloth with a set of glow in the dark balls.

I've always wanted the wine colored cloth, but when I finally got a table I had to agree with my better half that it clashed with the red mahogany finish on the table I was buying. The dealer agreed to refinish the table in a more neutral brown color, but I couldn't wait that long. 60 years was long enough.

I went with the Simonis "spruce" green, which is a very rich green compared to some of the ghastlier looking greens I've played on. I think it looks great, but it does show up the chalk marks more than on a lighter color cloth.

How about some Spruce green chalk?

Simonis 860 Tournament Blue is the best color cloth there is. I think it's much better on the eyes than any of the traditional green colors.

The Camel color is a nice non-traditional cloth color. It's a very pleasant light brown shade. Sort of like the lungs of a heavy smoker.

If you want to get a more non-traditional color, DO NOT get red. It's horrible.

The table came with a box of green Silver Cup. It makes the occasional nice dark spot on the low white ceiling , but looks pretty light once it's powdered up and comes off the tip and onto the cloth.

Thanks to the folks here, I've been getting it off using those Swiffer floor cleaning rags, but I'm gonna spring for the Simonis X-1... as soon as my blood stops boiling about a $90 sale price for a 6" square of plastic.

I have red on mine kuz it fits my room perfectly. But just like 'incognito' hates it, several people on these boards have told me to get rid of it. I really want tournament blue but it doesn't fit at all with my room. :(

Simonis 860 in the traditional green. I'm a traditionalist but thinking about going with the tournament blue next time I change the cloth. Since I keep the table covered when not in use, I'm guessing that my bride won't have a problem with it.

Red. Our room is already green and tan. Red works great for us. We have lots of windows and lots of lighting in the room too. We almost choose tiger print.

Putting red cloth on a pool table is an abomination. As Howard Cosell would say, it's a mockery and a disgrace to the game of pool.
