What Countries Tours Allow US Players?

Are there any major pool countries that allow US players to play on or join their tours? I know the Europe and PI tour doesn't. Can our pros play in the Japan, Korea, Taiwan, or any China tour? I'm not talking World or big international tournaments...just thier tours. I don't believe their are any of the big tours that a US pro can play a tour stop or two if they are in the area. If this is the case why doesn't the US start a tour for US pros only and keep the purse money over here? Johnnyt

They ought to reverse this policy now that there aren't any Americans that threaten them. It would just be free money for them. SVB isnt going over for a $1k first prize- He can make more here. Who would play anywhere but Canada?

As far as the other way- do we really want to see a pro tournament over here without Daz, Alex, Busty etc. where the winner gets the claim to "200th best player in the world"?

Not sure about the other countries but I do not know of any "tours" in China like in the US. Some of the tournaments here are for China players only but many are open and anyone can come and qualify and play.

And I would surmise that if a US player was actually in a position to play...as in physically there and entry fee in hand...then the organizers would likely accommodate the player.

But what do I know: Land of the Free, Home of the Brave...Give us your tired, poor and hungry.

I looked through the Eurotour signup info and found nothing that bars non-European players. Why do you believe that they do?

This thread is a bit silly. YOU'RE BANNED FROM THE TOURNEY BECAUSE YOU'RE AMERICAN lmao! I can see Earl Strickland being banned from various events... But as a whole, the pool industry is going down so banning a nation would be bad for business.

Johnny, you are misinformed. Eurotour is open for all players, regardless of nationality, age, gender, race or ability

The only pro event in Japan where international players could actually have a shot at making money is the All Japan Championship, which is open to foreign pros. The rest of the pro tournaments in Japan are actually split between east and west Japan, so they aren't even open to all of the Japanese pros. At least one pro on the Eastern Japan tour is foreign, Lo Li Wen and I believe he still has Taiwanese citizenship. So I guess it is theoretically possible for an American pro to move here, join the JPBA and play in the pro events (or even just play as an amateur, but then you only get half the prize money), but there is no real financial incentive because the payout isn't great for the smaller events.

Sorry. I thought it was a Europe only tour. I should have looked it up myself before putting it on. Johnnyt

I don't think they have a tour in the Philippines, but they do have a lot of invitational tournaments in between the open tournaments they host, and foreign players are always welcome with open arms...
