What Cue Did Allison Use Before Cuetech?

I thought she signed with Cuetec before coming across the pond?!?! If not, did she just use her snooker cue?

She, at first, used a snooker cue, but rapidly went to a US made custom cue, for a while before Cuetec. She either was told or experienced the differences with cue ball control between a snooker cue and a regular cue.

Allison, I believe, first showed up over here in 1994 or 1995, and the match I just watched the other day on ESPN Classic was from 1995, and she had a custom make Pool Cue when playing.
 
you cant play pool with a snooker cue very good, and you cant play snooker with a regular cue very good either, both games reqiire a different cue. Sure they are interchangable to bang balls around but to play at a high level forget it-you must have the proper cue for the proper game. there is alot of difference between the cues, shaft wood, diameter, length, taper. etc. She probably figured that out in 2 nights of play. the best snooker cue in the world with a 8 or 9mm tip is worse that the cheapest american cue for our pool, and a Bushka is junk on a 6X12' snooker table.
 
I can't imagine playing nine ball with a snooker cue. We've got a British guy here that is a heavy hitter and he uses a snooker cue, but I used a regular cue with an 11mm tip the other day and I couldn't make a long shot to save my life. Too much flex!

what kind of wood do they use in a snooker cue? I always assumed that it was the same.
 
she played with

a cue from that cuemaker in Colorado, that is well known. He spears most of his cues, and only veneers his top 2 or 3 cues.
 
I know very little about snooker but I found it interesting that ash has a very prominent grain. The shaft is cut such that it has butterfly point shaped grain lines from joint to tip. Many players rotate their cue such that these "arrows" point the way to the CB.

i'd say if Allison wasnt playing with her Cuetec cue then she must have been playing with some other cue, but Cuetec is her cue now, thanks.
