Those are usually crap cues for plaaying pool, main value is decorative or sentimental, sorry to say.

Ebay pricing is not accurate on this one. Check the completed auctions for an idea of how many sell for the $ you mentioned.

Does an interesting story come with it?

they are a cool novelty, however i don't believe they will bring that kind of price.
You never know though.

If nothing else enjoy having it just because it was a gift.

Yes, at one time they were a dime a dozen. I found a store in Grand Junction Colorado that had a half a dozen of these for sale and they were new.

Not much more then a novelty cue.....but kinda cool.

had a long one once

I had one that was longer than usual once when I was very young. That particular cue played just fine for me at the time, an example of being able to play with anything if that is what you are used to.

A couple years back I saw one on E-Bay that sold for $18.00. For something in that range I was going to buy one just for the heck of it. The next one sold for eighty-five dollars. E-Bay pricing is not very good for establishing more than minimum value. I've seen the same item go for fifty dollars and three hundred and fifty within a week.

My best guess is that the cue is worth $35-$75 in good shape, maybe a little more. Sounds like it might be worth a good bit more than that to you. I bought mine new for fourteen dollars in a high end department store. The only one I ever saw in anything other than a resell or novelty type store and it was the only one they had, was in the sporting goods department with other pool stuff. Of course I bought mine in the late sixties or 1970!

One of the old guys where I live plays with a CANE CUE he bought in Japan post WW-II, when he was in the Navy, said he paid like $.35 for two of em, and they will go to his grandson upon his death. They hit for Doo Doo. IMHO.

Just about every flea market in Florida in the 1980's had a booth or three selling them. They really were no good for anyone but bangers and $2 bar hustlers. Johnnyt

Every now and then someone will bring one of these into a pool hall. They are neat and all, but not worth anything. I've seen them at swap meets for $10.
