What did you think of AZB's U.S.Open coverage?

I thought it was fantastic! Cue & Case Sales and AZBilliards teamed up and pioneered new territory with this one. I really enjoyed it.

I liked the updating of the several threads during the week.

I bought the final match video and followed a few threads while the finals were going on. Very nice.

Overall I was very impressed with the Realtime scoring and the brackets.

Friday night I couldn't get the brackets to work at all and part of the time the Real Time scoring also wouldn't work.

Other than at those peak times I used the services often throughout the day and evening hours and really appreciated being kept up to date. Thanks very much Mike and Jerry and anyone else who time and effort into bringing all that information to me/us.

I thought it was the best live stream coverage to date along with the real time scoring it was the best live coverage of any tournament I have seen. The TV table was very nice I enjoyed this tournament very much.

It would really be cool if they could offer every match on PPV. There were a few locals from around here that I would have rather watched than the ones they offered. Maybe they could have the main TV table like they do now and then you could purchase additional matches for 10 or 20 per match.

16 TV tables.........are you listening Accu-stats?

Friend who has a Computer on Super Fast Cable Connection said he watched it the other night, cost was $6.00 or so, said he got his money worth.

AZ Billiards coverage was excellent, the PPV was also great.

Thanks Mike and Jerry.

It appears they were using a 768 kbps upload for their feed, which resulted in a nice picture. So, that would require a 12.5 mbps or so, upload connection. For comparision, most cable companies only give their high speed customers a 1 mbps or less upload speed.... They might get 18 mbps download but their upload speed is dramatically less.

I think in order for multiple tables to ever be broadcast at once, it would take someone to have a dedicated T-1 data connection installed in the location, which means the phone company or vendor would have to go out and install equipment and then provision it... Problem is, they're going to want a long contract which might only cost you a 1000.00 or so a month with a 2 year contract. I have no idea what it would cost for someone to come in and do all that work for 1 time a year. A lot though!!

Plus your going to need 16 camera's all feeding into computers that have to encode all the video before being sent to the Internet, which is very CPU intensive, so your going to need multiple high performance computers to do all that work.

With all that money being laid out, they're going to need MANY MANY people buying it to break even.

It would be great, I agree... to be able to pick whatever table you wanted to watch, at any time and then to have them all stored later for Video On Demand, for people to buy at a later time. That would be the nuts for us pool junkies!

Although it has to do w/AccuStats and not az coverage I gotta say that Danny D is THE MAN for commentating and when he was coupled with Jim Rempe it was a real treat... A REAL TREAT.

I loved those two together. Best commentating pairing I've heard yet. Even better than Danny and Billy... imo,,,,,, well... ok I better amend that to at least as good as Danny and Billy, imo :groucho:

I purchased the early bird deal for $58 and it was a good deal for the week. there were times when the feed went down, or things got choppy, but nothing enough to get upset about.

My only beef would be for the feed to have the match score on the screen somewhere! I hate to have to wait for the end of the game to know what the score is. I can't count the amount of times someone walked by my laptop and asked the score?!

I dunno!

besides that......good job Accu-stat!

Ditto... I too got the early special. As I watched throughout the week I thought a crawler across the bottom with scores and upcoming match schedules would work well.
