I am about order a cue from Bob Dzuricky (dzcues.com) and he has been great with working with me on a price. Take a look at this and let me know what you think.

I like it very much, I think you have a good taste, and I know that Bob makes some real nice cues, so to me it is a win - win situation.

Have a good night!!!!!

I like the design very much. The only thing I would change would be windows on the butt to match your points and veneers and that killer curly as the butt.

cheers

Well

you may not like my answer, but here goes:

1) Butt sleeve (I don't like plain butt sleeves)
use Curly on Butt sleeve too, put windows or diamonds on it,
in orange (as it seems orange in veneers stands out the most),
frame the windows or diamonds (with black/white borders).
2) Put double Silver rings on it.
3) Put a black wrap on it, whether linen (double pressed black) or
my preference black leather wrap.

I like Snap's suggestions.

One annotation on the picture says that the rings are the same size to match Predator shafts. Are you intending to get a Predator shaft for it? If so, then I would stick to the maker's ring work, otherwise, the silver would look nice to set it off.

In any case, it's a nice looking cue. Have you hit with them before?

First of all, you shouldn't care about what asthetics other people say you should change... It's not their cue. It's yours. You are ordering what you want and you are paying for it... Not anyone else...

Now - since I'm a traditionalist at heart, this cue is right up my alley! I think the veneer colors really go with your choice of wrap and base/point wood. Nicely done!

Is this your first custom or first time to design?

knows there are no windows in the butt...

Oh no, I like it like that !

It's a simple but very classic and elegant design ! Keep it like it is, you will not regret it.

Not that I "really" care about what other people think. I didn't ask for suggestions on improvement, I just asked what people thought about it. It's not going to change one bit I like it just like it is. Except for maybe a leather wrap;)

I have been keeping my eye on the recent hoppe style cues and this is what I came up with. Yes this will be my first custom ordered. I had a dominiak before but it wasn't custom ordered. This would be the first time I designed a cue.

Thanks for all the comments.

I think it would look really good with some silver rings, but what I have read on the past made me very hesitent. Apparently, after time, the rings could possibly expand and I would'nt want to have to deal with that in the future.

I am getting a predator shaft for it but its only going to have a joint collar and I will send a pred blank to bob to fit it perfect. I haven't had the chance to hit with a DZ yet but have read plenty enough about them and about Bob's workmanship. I am confident in him and his work and the price is reasonable.

Your correct in this statement, metal rings will almost always raise with time.

Correctamundo.................metal rings always raise...............and some even create a"buzzing" noise. I would stay away from metal rings too...........

Look into a elephant ear wrap if you are thinking of leather. I have one cue with it and it has a nice feel to it. Most of my cues are leather, or lizard and I like the elephant the best.

Bob has gone to work on starting my cue. He already had the veneers and the br points glued up. Then I emailed him about a change not knowing he started already. Anyhow I decided to get black thin veneers seperating the colored veneers (this really makes them pop) and he had to start over. If anyone is interested in br points with the same color veneers he already had them started so you could decrease your wait time. Here is a pic (buttsleave on the left) from his website showing the same color scheme of veneers that my cue will have but I will have Brazilian Rosewood instead of ebony points.

I will be posting pics of his progress as he send them to me. I cannot wait to get the finished product into my hands. This is going to be beautiful and with the quality and workmanship he is capable of this will be one sight to behold!!!
