I am going to look at some Ivory.
I don't know the going rate though.
The owner brought this tusk into the states long ago.
What is a ballpark on this, I think I am going to make an offer Tue.
Tusk is appx. 26" x 2" I don't have the weight yet.

Thanks,
Eddie

I was paying $90 per pound 15 years ago. Last I checked it was selling for double that a few years ago. I bought a 15 pound tusk a few years ago for $600 & I think I got a great deal on it...JER

That's right. Ivory is going for $250+/lb. nowadays. That tusk may weigh i'd guess 3-4lbs.

That is a very small tusk and a lot of what you see won't be useable. $200 a pound was the going rate a year ago for uncracked tusks. A crack in a tusk this small would result in a proportionately larger loss than it would in a larger tusk.

That small tusk I bought was solid, with no cracks or hollow at the face end. It was 2" x 21" & weighed 15 pounds. Your tusk is VERY valuable...JER

2"x21" @ 15lbs. is very heavy. I know of a tusk locally that is well over 4' long, closer to 5ft. if you measure inside the curve, & 8" diameter. It holds a thickness all the way, never really getting thin. It weighs 50lbs. & is solid as a rock.
