???? What Happened To Carolina Custom Cues ????

I've actually been playing with a Carolina Custom Cues sneaky pete lately. It's a very nice cue and I really like the way it plays. It would be a shame if they went out of business.

??????????? Still yet to get a reply from Trevor, running another business my a****! That's no reason for not being able to return a call r reply to my email and my Facebook message I sent. I run my own business too and I'm on point with getting back to customers. I need my cue I could care less if the repairs has been done. I spoke to a guy on Facebook that said he works in the shop at Carolina Custom Cues I politely asked him about my cue he said its there in the shop and he asked Trevor about it and Trevor told him its not to be touched! I told him to please have Trevor give me a call and I gave him my number. Now its going on 1week or more since and I have yet to receive a call from Trevor.

It's just now been a week since your last post and you never mentioned that you spoke to anyone there much less that your cue was at the shop so your perception of time since the start of this thread as been off anyway good luck with the situation

lol the guy has been out of his cue for quite some time now, what is the difference it was 6 weeks or 8 weeks or however long? ERAJ hasn't even gotten a response from the guy who is supposed to be "working" on his cue. Very unprofessional and a dick move if you ask me. XXROODOGGXX have you never been wronged? How does it feel when you are done wrong and others come to the defense of the scumbag in the situation? You are another reason why this forum is going to hell....

I think the reason they were highly praised on here is that there were quite a few people selling them LOL

I do have to say they looked pretty good for the price, not too cheap, not too pricy, and had a fairly clear look to them that was classic yet also attributable to them.

I had a CC I had to send back for a refinish and to align the shaft better (point were clearly felt under the finish and the shaft was a bit over the joint), but they did the work pretty quickly and it was as fast as you'd expect (maybe a week till I got it back).

This was years ago, I may still have that cue if I did not try the Ned Morris I have now, traded the CC and my ivory Arthur for the Ned Morris.

Nothing is more frustrating than expecting to do business with someone and getting stuck through no fault of your own. Your left wondering WTH do I do now? I had a cue recently that a local cue maker offered to refinish for me, A series of odd events occurred and I kept waiting and waiting. After 4 months I drove down to his shop we had a nice dinner at a restaurant and I left with my cue. Lucky for me he was local and I could contact him and get mine back. To the OP I can only feel his frustration, and see no easy way for him to resolve it..

Carolina Cues ??? " when you lay down with dogs, you get up with fleas"... I'm surprised they're still in business... about as incompetent and untrustworthy as you can get..... and I can verify it....

This, right here....is STRONG! Hard to fade, as this member is definitely 'in the know'.

Just get the police involved. I would file a complaint with the FBI too. A lot of times cue makers would screw people out of thousands. That is enough for the FBI to bust them. You have to remember some of these deposits customers put down and scammed is a crime.

-or-

Sue them.

I hop this means something to negative one!!

I have strong proof Trevor has my cue!!!!!!
I need my cue back, never mind the repairs you are bad business...

AZ Member: Erajcustom89: I respect the heck out of you as we both stick our neck out there in the cue world. I hate it when anyone gets put in this situation. There are many fantastic cue makers across the country and do such an excellent job of course. However, if you want to deal with someone who is fantastic at refinishing and repairs and at very fair costs, Please give Scott Erwin a chance as you will not find a more gracious person who will cherish to work for you. Scott@erwincues.com
He is a little behind in his cue orders right now as many folks have sent rework and restoration jobs to him in the last several months. The last Scruggs I sent him was in good shape, but, looked dungy, The refinish he done to it was marvelous, had no idea what the cue actually looked like until I received it back. Great Price and Service. Scott is in the billiard business, ONLY. Just throwing it out there and of course, yes, giving Scott a plug. I highly recommend him.

Holy crap!!!!

Holy crap my cue arrived at my door step today. With a note in the box, not a returned phone call, email, voicemail, pm.
Thanks for sending my cue back.
The cue was sent back to me in the same exact condition I sent it to em. No work was done I guess he got pissed about this thread. I'll upload a couple pics of the note but it does not make any sense what it says.. if I sent a complete cue to you for over a month with getting any form of confirmation that my cue has been delivered to you nor have you returned my call, email, pm you think I should send you more stuff to leave me going worst ballistic????
If you could sit around the computer and type that half ass letter up you could have gave me a phone call!!
I was only cheated out of my time and trust!

# Im asking pls if one of the Moderators can delete this thread?

Holy Crap is right, I think your one lucky SOB to get it back!! Good for you, I can only imagine what the case may have been if you did not go public with their poor business practices.. No communication other than a note in the box is unacceptable under any circumstances. You'd think we were living in the dark ages they way some of these businesses communicate... Congratulations!

I know a Pete the Ex-Cop who knows a little something something about cues.

The odd deal with Carolina Cues is they were at first repped real strong by a guy (was it?) Tommy on AZ who had a great reputation and a million iTraders (did we even have them back then?) or just a a great reputation until one day he just completely disappeared. Just poof, where Tommy with my dough? Goes good until it doesn't I guess.

Glad this cue came back.

I'm not sure that even matters

This was about the total lack of communication regarding RECEIVING the cue... Much less conversation about the work to be done. Are you suggesting that he's short on ferrule's tips and a wrap thus the cue being sent back untouched? Why not enjoy the markup on materials for the job and just do it, assuming they were for this cue and not part of some trade. Either way a quick phone call or email was warranted. I mean after all it sounds like they communicated before it was sent so it's not like it just showed up unannounced at the shop one day.

any way you slice it... SOMEBODY over there should have responded.

did you send them the ferrules and tips mentioned on the note?

I agree with this completely with a couple other things.. They should have put the damned ferrules and tips on at their own expense then apologized for all the unnecessary crap they put the cue owner through. If they had done those two things they could have salvaged their reputation, I guess they only consider their reputation to be worth a couple tips and two ferrules. Good Luck with gaining future customers doing business like that! Once you accept a job at least have the decency to complete it even if you have to take a loss, do the damned job!
