What happened to Howard Vickery

I haven't heard anything about him for years now. Last I heard he was doing time in a Florida prison. Does anyone know his status now? I go back a long way with Howard to when we were young guns in Ohio (he was in Columbus while I was in Dayton).
 
In the 70s, my favorite out of Columbus was The Truckdriver...Howard, not so much.
the locals rated Kenny just as good.
 
I remember when Howard Vickery won the 1999 Senior U.S. Open down in French Lick, Indiana. I remember Nick Varner, Buddy Hall, Jose Parica, Martin Rimlinger, and others participated in this event.

I don't remember who the runner up was though. Does anybody recall?

Believe it or not, it won't be long before some idiot comes on here and says how dare you judge, we have all done things wrong in our life, blah blah blah.

I can't believe his sentence was only 7 years. I think here in FL it would have been 15+.

If you have little kids though... you really might want to know where he is.

I should leave this thread and not come back as I think it will only piss me off. You are right in your assessment and that's what is going to get to me. I honestly don't give a crap about what he won or who he was with, what he is doing now. All respect for him is GONE!
 
I'm guessing Jay was just trying to check on his status and not looking to make a dinner date. :yeah:
 
Doubt it was about a dinner date chicken. Thinking Jay is out of his preferred age preference. I would trust Jay knew nothing of the charges before posting.

If he was cought, sentenced and sent to prison for a felony involving a 'child' who gives a crap about his pool game ? Surprised he made it 7 years. Those perv's generally do not fair well with the killers, thieves, rapists, embezzlers in the house. Sometimes they do not fair well after being released.

I'd bet medium high that Jay def knew where Vickery was and why. :wink:

He might have just lost track of how many years in and wondered what he was doing these days.

Really Chicken ? Why would anyone especially Jay post up in regard to the whereabouts of a alleged child molester unless a 'tune up' or the such was in order ?

I'm thinking just basic curiosity on Jay's part.

again, just guessing but I believe with how dialed in Jay is in the pool community, it's very unlikely that a somewhat well known player and acquaintance of his being put in prison for molestation would have slipped by him.

He knows too many people not to have heard.

In defense of Jay, he is getting old...
Jay may seem OK, but subconsciously he still sees Howard Vickery as a touring pro.
Like so many older players, Jay is still living in the 90's.
I've seen this before, very sad
