What happened with Mika Immonen?

It looked like this guy was gonna be Shane's rival for many years but then he just kinda dropped off. I don't mean to be demeaning, I'm just kind of wondering what happened?

Too many world-class poolplayers out there for any one man/woman to stay at the top for any great length of time.

He has been at the sharp end for over a decade!! The resume trumps
SVB as of now.. More to life than 13 hrs of hittin' em daily. (SVB)..:boring2:

Not a bad point of view.
Assume they both have the same natural talent, it's normal that the guy pratices 5 times more get more acheivements.
All the monsters from Taiwan do the same routine as Shane( even more  )
Play money game or practice, they are always 100% concentration, try to do that 10 hours straight for one day, I can tell you how hard it is. And yes, pros do that everyday

Maybe it's more that Shane keeps improving?

Don't think thats it LOL... Mika was playing as close to perfect as humanly possible for a long run and I think he just ended up mentally and emotionally bankrupt...

I'd say he may be back after the batteries recharge but performing at that high of a level over a long period is beyond demanding... I think we are seeing this with Ralf as well at the moment...

Getting to the top is one thing but staying there for more than a moment in the sun is beyond superhuman... Heck it's Efrenesque!!!!

I always wanted to make up my own word for Websters =)

He's out there

I think RenFro is right, he's got to recharge the battery. He's young enough and has enoughe talent to play with anyone. SVB might have the best of it in the long run, but we all know that Mika can play and if the drive is there, he has got to be delt with when he shows up.

I hope he stays with the game, pool needs guys like him.

Two US Opens, two Challenge of Champions, mosconi MVP, world 10b, DCC straight pool... I guess there are a few titles left but he's won the majors, some more than once. He may just not have that burning drive anymore. Nothing left to prove.

I think there comes a time with alot of players when they have to unscrew their head put some teflon tape on the threads and screw it back on the right way !
