You have to determine why and how you missed. You cannot correct errors if you don't know what caused the error. Its not so much practicing the shot you missed 200 times - its reprogramming your mind to associate that situation with success instead of failure.
Exactly. # times is really immaterial w/out the above. Actually, maybe you missed a shot because you were nervous.... but you can make the shot 10000 times in practice, for fun. The next time you're under the gun to get out, you dog it again. Therefore, the shooting drill you mentioned will not make you better all the time. The best way to get better is to hook yourself with top instruction (which you've taken that step), work to a point where you can somewhat get out, and once you're there--- start gambling cheap. Just enough to hate losing. Or, get someone to taser you every time you miss. Playing well is nothing more than a conditioned response. You hate (or it hurts) to lose, therefore you play better.
It's not a bad question though. I think you should write down this and the many other questions you have and present them to Scott Lee instead of creating a new thread each time you have a new thought. Or, create one thread with a number of different questions in it.
Or, better yet, maybe AZB can create a new section (like they did for straight pool) called INSTRUCTIONAL QUESTIONS where people can post pool-related questions and strategies. Believe me, I have a few questions too!
That way people have a place to ask "how to draw a CB" questions, there's a place to answer "how to draw a CB" questions if others are in the mood, and we don't have to scan past 10 DCP posts to find out who's gambling in Olathe and other fun stuff in the main section.
I mean that with the utmost respect, by the way. Just an idea. I CAN'T WAIT for you to get better
