What is the best DVD for learning the Diamond System?

I agree that speed and english are very important in kicking, but I would guess aim or direction would be most important. A person might be the fastest person in the world, but if he had no idea of which way to run to reach the finish line, I doubt he would have much success.

I admit I have never used any kicking system, but how can a system be so great when speed and english are the most important factors?

Not an argument, just a question.

Thats the thing, for the shot to be consistant, the speed and amount of spin have to be consistant. If you take some spin off the ball, it will affect the rebound angle off the rail, same with speed.
Systems are an excellent starting point, but it takes experience and practice time to apply the system consistantly.

Jimmy reid's systems are solid gold..........

I had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy Reid for the first time in the mid to late 70's when he lived in Royal Palm Beach, Florida and helped his mother with her real estate business. He took me under his wing and taught me all of his systems and I can tell you that they absolutely work. It's unbelievable how many different situations arise where one system won't work but as you look at the shot, another system will come to mind that will work. Every time I kick a three or four rail shot and not only hit my ball but hit the correct side of the ball to kick it safe.... I say to myself "Thank You Jimmy Reid". Jimmy is and has been a very close personal friend of mine for many years. He is the best money player that has ever played the game. If you beat Jimmy for money, you would bankrupt him because if you got him down, he would sell his car, house and max out the credit cards , not to get even but to beat you out of everything you had. The word 'quit' does not exist in his vocabulary. Jimmy plays all disciplines related to billiards on a level that few ever achieve. He has won championships in 8 ball, 9 ball, one pocket, three cushion, and snooker. He has always made himself accessible to anyone who wants to chat with him. He is very well schooled and a pleasure to talk to on the phone. If anyone would like Jimmy's phone number, pm me. I just ask that you respect Jimmy's wishes and only call between noon and midnight EST. Jimmy would love to hear from his fans.

Not much of a useful reply Geometry. The fact that you didn't try them or tried and failed with them doesn't mean they aren't useful to other people. And anyway how would you feel if you asked something like "hey what's a good cheap production cue?" and you got answers like "those cues are useless just pick a good one off the wall"...

Just to be clear cuejunkie, do you really want to learn diamond systems or just kicking? In most popular pool games you need 1 and 2 rail kicks... diamond systems are great for 3 cushion billiards but I assume you're not asking about that. I haven't seen a ton of kicking DVDs but I liked grady matthew's "only kicks" (not sure if it's on DVD, pm me if you can't find it) and I've heard good things about little joe villapando's kicking instructionals. http://www.bebobpublishing.com/moredvds.htm

GREEN REP to ALL

Although I am a big believer in that everyone is entitled to their own opinions...
... I also believe that some opinions (particularly those that are not positive or productive) are better kept to ones' self.

Well said Creedo And I am looking for any systems in general that reference using the table diamonds. (1,2,3... multiple rail kicks/banks) and also for optimum ball paths for position play.

So far I have received several endorsements and ALL have been quality sources of information.
Now, all that remains is to go over all the suggested DVDs/Books and make a decision which to buy.

A BIG THANKS to all who posted suggestions and offered helpful advice in my quest for knowledge!
-See you around the fourms, -Marlo

Here's another example of how Joe's system can open up whole new kicking lanes for you. Let's say the table you are playing on requires you to aim at the 2nd diamond for the typical 3-rail kick to the corner (the black line)...you know this because you've tested out the table before your match, right?

Let's assume a situation comes up where you can't see the 2nd diamond due to an interefering ball. Joe teaches his students how to adjust the kick (by changing the english applied to the CB) so it can still be made...either going long or short of the interefering ball (red & blue lines).

Lil Joe's stuff is wonderful!:groucho::groucho::groucho:

In just a short time you know in your gut that you can hit any ball on the table from most anywhere. It's a great feeling to know how to do that.

Little Joe's Stuff Rockes!!!!!!!

Please quit advertising for Little Joe.
I'm getting sick and tired of seeing you post all these blatant advertisements that you keep putting up her for Joe Villalpondo at www.pooliq.net and his pool videos on kicking systems and shape playing systems.

While his videos will make you a better player/kicker, your continuous shilling for him is really getting old.
