What is THE BEST GLUE fo Cue tips???

It appears that the gluing temp is important. I glued a couple of tips a few weeks back, and both have come off. I noticed that the temp was about 50 F at the time. The shed does not have any heat and it was winter when they were glued 1st time round.
I have reglued some more tips since then with the same bottle of glue, but the room temp was 66 F. Spring now.
These tips seem to be better. Have not come off yet. I always prep the same way.

This is the one I use and sure the one that everyone else is talking about.

Bumpin this thread for general use by the public. This glue works on eveything I've tried it on and I use it for something or other at least once a week. Nothing comes loose and it stays fresh in the bottle. I just do a few tips and it works for this total amatuer.

I prefer BSI cyno..At $2.37 per oz you cant go wrong...And it works great.

Gorilla Super Glue Impact-Tough Formular

Used loctite 454 for years

The Gorilla seems not as brittle/hard

The key is to lightly sand & score both surfaced

If you want it as perfect as possible.....
First/ light coat on both surfaces
Second/ light sanding
Third/ apply second coat / bond together

The first coat soakes up into both surfaces (esp. the tip)
Your final bond has plenty of glue/between surfaces

works for me!

ps/ tip porcupine/pri*ker works great in creating small
pockets for the glue

Dick you are dead on about the refrigeration thing. It is the right thing to do until the package is opened!

I have a commercial CA supplier right down the road from me, and have visited with them on numerous occasions. They were who told me about the refrigeration issue. They also told me that CA, in its purest form, is very thin. In order to make it a Gel, they have to add thickeners to it. Basically, he calls them impurities. The strongest bond is made with the purest form of CA, so we should use the thinnest we can that will fill the voids and create a proper cure of the CA.

For that reason I use a medium thickness of CA. I did buy it from my friend, but, even with the number of tips we install, it is still a small volume by his standards and his prices are a little high for me. He likes to sell CA by the quart as his smallest size.

Joe Blackburn told me he uses the Loctite "Professional'. This is a medium thick CA that comes in a 20 gram bottle for about $6.00 from Home Depot. I do buy enough that I could go to Loctite and buy it direct, but the quantity is large and I don't want any to get stale. So, I buy at Home Depot. They are often out of it, so I know they turn it regularly.

So, Loctite Professional works great for us!
