You don't use your own shafts? I am curious to why not.....Not trying to be rude just curious.

Tony

Have used my own shafts for years, they play wonderful. This cue is a newer '06 that did have 3 (sold the OB-1 to my buddy) shafts. Just an attempt to try some of the newer shafts since they are in such high demand. I'm currently, little by little, working on my new cue...it'll have my hard rock maple 1pc shafts & Ivorine 4 instead of Aegis...with Snipers of course!

The Avatar say's it all. I also have a tricked out Lucasi that I've had for 5 1/2 years. The Predator SE-3 is the only cue that made me put it down, it has a custom leather wrap and also a custom matched Predator Z shaft. I was offered $600.00 for it and turned it down. What can I say I've been through alot of battles with it and can't seem to let it go, even though I rarely take it out of the case anymore.

Peace, Black Cat:cool:

I personally have never liked laminated shafts from cuemakers. Takes a little bit away from the art. Well I mean the ones who have their cues standard with them. I understand to have them as an option but not really a standard. I love the way you are saying that you are going to have 1 piece hard rock maple. I would be more than intrigued when your final result comes out. Well do you use a big pin? I have yet to see the joint of one of your cues.

Tony

I have been using pretty much only the "big pin" for years. Brass, Steel, Aluminum, Titanium, G10, all in 3/8 - 10. I often use Radial pins as well. Very few of my cues will have any other joint. Yes, lams are an upgrade option. My hardrock maple shafts are standard. Believe me...I wish they did not upgrade...the shafts are so expensive, it actually hurts my slim profit margin.

I guess you could call mine a custom by screw on no logo production cue. The butt is a Present Day Palmer. Here it is.

1990 Joss West, 60 inch
and sometimes I take either one of the Novas or a Stanley West depending on my mood

Tim Scruggs. The best-hitting cue I've ever laid my hands on. Possibly looking for another, a simpler one for those bar tournaments.

Ok....

I didn't want to give out this secret, but while I was acting as if I'm playing with that pretty new Skip Weston I bought, but this has been my real secret weapon. I could tell you where to find one....but then...well....

You can't miss a ball with this custom laser sight!

LOL...imagine the possibilities!!! Just think of the huge spots you get offered if you did play with the laser cue...hahahaha!!! Hardest part would be keeping a straight face.

I've got 2 Bludworths cues that I currently use, a plain jane for bars and the other one is for league and use in regular pool halls.

I knock balls around with a Robinson. (At my skill level calling what I do "playing pool" would be an insult to the game of pool.) I like it a lot but it's probably a little too much cue for my game. Plus I'm not a big fan of metal joints in general.

I've got a ZCC Sneaky Z on order and I'm trying to save up some funds for a Varney*.

(*I'm going to be the first one to Post when he puts one in the Wanted/Sales area for $250.)

Bob Frey Sneaky Pete, Maple and Rosewood butt with Spears at the top of each point. Black phenolic joint. 19oz.

Break with a Gen 2 Maple classic Xbreaker with a natural weight of 18.75.

I alternate between and old plain cocobola Libra and a Gilbert. The Gilbert is fairly fancy so if alcohol is going to be involved I usually tote the Libra. Andy is currently making a j/b to match and when I get it I will probably holster the Libra for a while.

I currently play with the first cue I've built under my control...I used to build cues for Brianna Prod....a leopardwood forearm and buttsleeved cue with two floating curly maple points in between the facegrain of the wood...the facegrain looks like a snakes belly...I hope by fall to be able to have some for sale....

My principal playing cue is a Phillipi. I have won more tourny's with it than any other cue I have ever had. Mostly I use this cue for my 8 & 9 ball playing. I have an ivory jointed Coker - very fancy - that I use for Straight Pool and 1 pocket. I also have a Runde for backup when things just aren't going my way with one of the 1st 2 cues.
