What is your break speed?

the highest I ever got is 20.something. I average about around 19.
I got a weak break =( Can't add more juice to it without making a mess out of the break =(

I find a more controlled pop and squat works best for me at 17 to 18 mph...anything faster and I'm just letting loose of the cueball...a hit and a prayer type of thing...

I have been taught to break anywhere from 1-28 MPH. My most effective break is around 20 MPH.

The cloth on the table should have no bearing on the speed of the cue stick?

What table cloth are you using?
And how much does it have to do with break speed? 2mph or 5mph???

And what break cue do you use?

Interesting software... or maybe not

I gave it a try though:

23-24 mph from the center. Didn't set up the software to capture speed from the side next to the rail where I normally break from. Will try that tomorrow but do not expect more than 1-3 mph more.

The break speed app is a cool thing. The inventors are local guys here who play in league with us.

At first, I though I was hitting it around 27 to 30, but found out the guy testing me didn't set the cue ball position right. It can make a big difference too! I was actually clocked around 22 to 24 when it was set right.

Did y'all throw down the $5 for the app?

I got clocked at the SBE with a consistant 29mph with control using a Stinger J/B.

I'm at 24 - 25 consistently with control, honestly don't try to hit them harder than that since I lose control. If I could get another few mph out of it and keep the same control I would.

Often hit 18 - 20 as well, on certain tables that actually seems to work better than a full out assault... :)
