What tip do you use?

Pretty sure it's called leather. Not that feeenolllic stuff. It's too hard. I can't draw the ball as well with it.

I really like the Karomi tip. It gives me a lot of control on the cueball, but doesn't mushroom, like the others. Also, I don't really like a very rounded tip, but you don't usually get a lot of control with a flatter tip... unless it's a Karomi.

For breaking, I like the WB Water Buffalo tip, because it really transfers a lot of power to the cue ball, but it doesn't mushroom, either.

I also like the White Diamond tip for breaking. It has a lot of grab for a phenolic-type tip. (I require a lot of grab, because I am bad to miscue with phenolic.)

I have a lot of trouble with tips that mushroom, so I guess that's one are that makes me like or dislike a tip in a hurry.

Phenolic isn't really made for draw. It's made for the power of a rock without the damage a rock can cause. Because of it's make-up, it also gives just enough cushion to the shot.

Some people (like me) are bad to miscue with a phenolic tip.

I had been using Moori Tips for many years and recently switched to Super Pro.

I am now playing the best pool I have played in years and can't help but think the Super Pro tips have something to do with it.

They Break, Jump, and Play just perfect for me ... and the price is right.

SuperPro gets my vote. I love hard tips and this is the best in terms of Price (read CHEAP) and Performance. Holds chalk very well, very consistent and doesn't mushroom.

I've tried others and next on my list are Talisman WB (H) followed by Pre-Moori III (H or M) and then Pre-Kamui II (H or M). I just got Kamui Black yesterday and installed an (H) on my BHQ and I like it.

I've been using a sniper on my 314 and a moori on my Z2. i was thinkin about switching to a kamui on my 314 but dont know much about how they play. Anyone have any input that might help?

I bought a box

of Hercules tips. They have a couple of different kind. I got the 23 layer pigskin medium/hard extra deluxe. According to Joe Barringer, these are the latest ones from Hercules and they are top, top quality. I can just tell by looking at them.

I've been experimenting with a lot of tips lately including milk duds, super pros, all the laminated tips, and especially the traditional tips.

I put these on a couple of my cues a couple of nights ago and find that they play very solid and very consistent. It has a nice, hard hit and it also has a good amount of grip on the cue ball. It also seems to hold chalk very, very well.

When I stumbled across Joe's website, I was actually in shock, cause of the prices. http://cuecomponents.com/cuebuco.html

Dude, you do know I was kiddin', don't you? I use a medium Moori shaved on a dime exactly 1/2 inch high on a 11.67 mm shaft from Pete Ohman. I use Phenallic on my jump/break cue that is 20.2 oz. Thanks for the help, though.

any everest tip user out there? would like to hear so feedback on these tips....

any one know when was laminated cue tips first existed? who was the first supplier for these tips? just curious

I'm using Everest currently on my Huebler and my Klein and really like them. Great feel and action, hold up really well, require a little TLC now and then, but hey most good tips do.

I'm using everest at the moment, it's ok I suppose, quite hard though. I think i will be getting a sniper on next.

I play with layered tips !! I was a devoted moori medium user , but when the tips I started getting in recent years started changeing considerably from the way the played and just not keeping their shape and glazing over not holding chalk. So I heard about wizard tips and I gave them a try. For half the money of a moori they play just like the old moori's from 10 + years ago. I did also try kamui tips and I liked those also and I was very satisfied with everything with those to. But the fact is when I can get a tip for less than half of what the expensive tips are going for (kamui) I just stayed with the wizards. But I do still put kamui medium soft on some of my cue's shafts. I am thinking of trying some kamui blacks next tip I need ,,<<ED

I always use a Moori but recently i had a milk dud installed.
DO not waste your money. A cheap tip is a cheap tip no matter what you do to it.

Kamui - for me its the Medium though

Reason? Well, plays awesome straight away, very very little 'break-in' period and holds its shape well. Little to no maintenance and holds chalk very well.
