What is YOUR shot?

i'd set up a railroad shot so it looks like it'd be an easy shot and then add in the over, around & under. Have the cue ball resting on the railroad, shoot the OA&U with the nine, making the six & seven, have the nine bump the cue ball into motion and then the cue ball glances off the eight in the side making room for the 9 to go into the side. All balls go in rotation, no scratch. Great shot. I'd love to set this shot up on cuetable, however... there is no way to put the extra cues on the table or put the bridge across the table. Someday they'll have a version for us artistic pool players!!

Practiced this shot a lot, made both times attempted in a league or tournament. Once I left myself in the situation and the other time a lucky opponent did...

Another one I like is jacking up on a straight shot along the rail to jump the ball up onto the rail to allow for shape far away from the rail.

This is both a legitimate and a hustle shot. With practice on good equipment this shot is probably about 1 out of 3. With a gimmick explanation it's 100%

Announce, "I will shoot the cue ball 3 rails legally and make the object ball."

If you can make it 1 out of 3, you should work the hustle by intentionally missing the shot by about 1 1/2 diamonds while trying to get your mark to give you 3 tries. If they do, honestly shoot the shot. If you make it on first 2 tries, you win. If not, on the third shot shoot the cue ball three rails fairly slowly, then turn and pocket the object ball on another stroke.

You must either be deadly with your fists, a very big guy or you seldom collect on this bet. :D

That makes you both wrong :D But I do understand, even after I watched it I swore there was a trick involved, I will try to post a video of this as soon as I can.

Tim, did you ever post a video of this shot u were speaking about? Link, please.

THANKS Mosconiac!

These are three shots I like to hit...although I wouldn't say they rival a Mike Massey show or anything. They are just fun to stroke. The shot on the 2 is shot such that the CB hooks before it hits the end rail and travels down table for position on the 9. It looks impossible to NOT hit the end rail but you can. The shot on the 3 is really valuable if you play golf.

*3 wei tables clipped for ease of reading*

My opponent messed up his shot and ended up "safe" here, and thanks to this thread, I won the game... and the $20... still workin' on the blonde though. :D

This is the easiest trick shot in the world. I usually shoot this when 2 balls are left on the table. To set this up use the cueball labeled A to form a tight triangle or pyramid on the rail. Remove the cueball and set it down the same distance the two ball is from the rail. Hit it hard like a break shot aiming to drive the two ball parallel with the rail. You need a little top to get the cueball out of the way of the two ball. If you miss the first time you can make it the second time with this tip. If the two ball goes short add a little right english... if it goes long add a little left.

Also you can add the three ball for more effect.

Excellent exhibition shot

I was surprised to find out that several long-time players have not seen this shot.

Explain to your audience that you were in a Last Pocket 8-ball game and you were the stripes. You say that you figured out a way to make all your balls in one shot, making sure that the last ball to drop is the 11 in the lower left corner. When your cueball stops, you end up with perfect shape on the 8 into the same corner.

Shoot the cueball to hit the 12 just before the 14 with top-right english with enough power to go around the table. When the cueball ends up where you said it would, tell everyone that your opponent conceded the game and you didn't need to shoot the 8.

I get into these situations with players hanging out, doing nothing. So we set up shots like these all the time. I must have dozens of these shots in my arsenal.

Edit - Nuts! I meant the last ball to drop is the 12. The cue ball trikes the 11 just before the 14.

Wham~

I don't do these much, I guess the only shot I know that's sorta uncommon is the nipplekicker(tm). I'm not a favorite to make it on my first try though. The room owner who taught me might be tho. Needs a fairly firm stroke with running english that takes off the jaw.

Hey tim, have you had a chance to post that video? I'd really like to see...

I mean, if you're right... you're right. I tried the shot on my own a few times, and it doesn't come anywhere near what the diagram shows....
perhaps I'm doing something wrong, maybe my cue is too level, who knows.

any video?

I just want to thank everyone who has contributed to this thread. I am pretty sure this thread has attracted more attention than the other fun one I started "The Tragedy of the Jump Cue" or something like that. I know you ALL loved that one! LOL Wow.

I like this thread. I am learning new things to try and ways to think.

Thanks again.
