What kind of case do I need with a Mezz PB DI 2 with a short butt?

Recently bought a mezz powerbreak 2, which has a short butt handle. Thus, my cue case prohibits me from getting my butt out of the case without having to tip it over and use gravity. So, I'm in search of a new case. What is the best solution to this? I've looked at soft cases and am not wild about them, but not totally down on them if they are the only good solution.

Buying a new hard case won't solve your problem, as you'd need to go custom. Besides, a shorter case wouldn't fit your standard length shafts and butts.

Just go buy a 4-5" piece of 1.5" wooden dowel or something and put it in the bottom of the sleeve where you keep the breaker butt. This will keep it from sliding down in too far.

It will be about a dollar, and you get to keep your current case.

Find a washer that is larger than the diameter of your case tubes. Put it over the joint pin & attach joint protector. Should do the trick.

Jump Cue Pouch

The Mezz PBII butt breaks down into 2 sections which easily fit into a case that has a jump cue pouch. By the way...try breaking down the cue and using it as a jump cue...it is excellent and eliminates the need for a sererate jump cue. Hope this helps!

If you bought it from Mezz it should have come with a big foam cylider. You can throw that in the case so that the butt dont go all the way down.

Someone at the SBE said they found something to put in their case in the plumbing section of a hardware store. Some type of foam. I just put mine in my case but down instead of joint down and use the shaft to get it out. Works okay but I still have to turn it upside down sometimes to get it out.

I wouldn't recommend using it in place of a jump cue. It's main purpose isn't to be a break/jump cue. It is just a break cue. Some people have success with longer jumps but the tip, weight, butt are not made with the purpose of jumping. Plus it takes forever to unscrew! I also wouldn't recommend putting it in the front part of your case. I don't think you paid that much money just to lose the washers or ding it up...but it is your choice! I think I would head to the hardware store to find that piece of foam though.

throw your shaft into the tube and screw it in a little. that'll get it out for you

thanks for all the suggestions guys, probably gonna get a piece of foam to put down in the bottom.

It's DEFINITELY not a jump cue... way too heavy lol. My hanshew jumper is phenomenal and I wouldn't trade it for the world. the butt is also a bit thicker than jump cue butts, so it's really not suited for the jump cue pouch at all.

I've been using the shaft to take it out of the case lately, but I am usually obsessed with using joint protectors.

Some good ideas here. Also just considering buying myself a cheap soft case as I've got a home table and a nice rack that usually keep my cues on, so all I need with me is my player, break cue, jump cue, chalk, tip pik and joint protectors.

thoughts? enough room in one of these things for the extra jump cue?
