What kind of pool thread do the pool players on AZB like to read?

What about Lock N Load threads? Poor Lock! OK, I am OK though. I like Blue Hog Rdr post and threads, I like PT109 post, I like exciting post about pool wars and stories, Catman threads and post, So many good post in this threads wow! Jay , Jam, JoeyA, Sean, Neil, I do not have enough room to put all the threads I like in here. Geno, Richie Balto, Creedo, and a host of others!
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

What about Lock N Load threads?
Lock, your threads get a lotta feedback.
Be satisfied with the number of views and posts.
There was a thread where you won most popular poster...which naturally
created some blowback for you and the Lock Society...now things have
settled down nicely and we can get on with our lives.
If things get too one-sided, it all goes to hell....
...so bring on some dissent..we'll circle the wagons, Lock.

hemlock, hemlock,
Good Morning to you. Which thread was that? I was not told about being most popular poster on one of my threads. I had 652 post in one of my threads. I was only messing with you anyway. They moved that one to NPR.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

This reminds me of the design your dream thread.

Both threads seem to be fishing for new ideas for new designs/thread topics.

Both threads don't have a prize for the winner. :D

Hello Luxury,
That dream thread was about me but I did not write it. What this thread was about is trying to find something that the AZB members like and want to discuss. Something people like. I like your post too! Thanks for your input.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

I miss Neil's 'what would?' threads....many disagreements..but they always
seemed to remain good humored and informative.
...Joey had some good ones also...

And the war stories are entertaining.

And tournament results...that's why I started reading AZ....
...noooobody out-scoops AZ posters...

..and, although I tend to be a serious dude myself...I like the humor.
...some of you guys could've wrote for Don Rickles...:rotflmao1:

Ya Neil, its time to get with it.There are lots of new guys to be introduced to your"How would you play this"threads. They reach a wide demographic.I like them.

I'm a history buff, and I enjoy reading about the people, the players themselves from days gone by, today, and the future generation.

One of my favorite threads -- and I have many -- is the one about Etta James entitled: Minnesota Fats, Muddy Waters, and Etta James

I also liked Newman Calls it Quits.

When I create threads, I try to Google and add a little historical value to the thread for the pool archives. When I'm dead and buried, at least I've contributed to a record of pool for future generations to read. Well, at least that's how I like to think about it.

One thread on this forum was like eating a bag of potato chips. You couldn't read just one post. It eventually got closed, though it was an epic thread for the legacy of AzBilliards Discussion Forum: The Way It Really Went Down.

I'm not sure why, but in forum culture, threads that flame or turn into a free-for-all seem to garner the most attention. :embarrassed2:

I am an active member on my industry forum. We've never had a flame thread or a bashing thread. There are no trolls, and it's a pleasant environment to post in.

Me personally, I also like pictures. I enjoy seeing pool pics, which is why this one may be the all-time great for me: Pool Hall Photos from All Over.

When I'm at any pool event, you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be snapping pictures left and right, just like a tourist. :D

Hello Jam,
I love the photos of the pool halls. And your post.Thanks.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

Thank you so very much for the kind words. It helps to erase the unpleasantness I have experienced on this forum from mean-spiritedness that is exhibited on AzBilliards from time to time.

One pool memory that I will never, ever forget, probably one memory I will think of as a top favorite in my entire life, was when Keith and I drove cross country to Vegas for an IPT tournament. I have a phobia of flying on airplanes, and I refused to get on a plane. Keith was stuck with me driving. I made it out there in 4 days, driving about 600 miles a day.

In fact, we got there a day early and went to the Cue Club to hang out. It was during the day, dead as a door nail. Earl Strickland arrived that day, and when he walked in, he said to me, "Man, I can't believe you drove here instead of flying. I haven't done driving on the road to tournaments in a long time." :embarrassed2:

Well, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed that drive, seeing America up front and close, those pristine cornfields in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Oklahoma, and then the herds of cattle in Kansas and Nebraska. Man, Nebraska is flat, and it seemed like they only had one Starbucks in the entire State, but I found it. :grin-square:

I had never seen the Rocky Mountains before, and it was so green. We saw a mother mountain goat and her baby climbing up a mountain. Priceless! We stopped in Vail, and much to Keith's disappointment, I went shopping. They had a golf course there that was the most beautiful I think I've ever see. Keith said Pepple Beach golf course is the best he's seen, but I liked this one.

It seemed like we were the only car on the road in some parts of Utah, and the mountains and terrain, they were all red. I got a little nervous when I saw signs that said next gas station 108 miles. I was praying my car wouldn't break down, even though it was only 2 years old.

The first time I'd ever seen a rainstorm in the distance was in Arizona. Talk about blue skies and seeing forever and ever! It was there in Arizona that I decided to experience my Native American heritage, stopping at every single Native American store on the way home. I bought some beautiful items that I still cherish today.

I posted at the hotel rooms each night on the way to Vegas and on the way home. It was an experience I will never forget. When I retire, we're going to do it again, this time hanging out in California for a spell. That way, I can see my brothers, and Keith can see his friends. I can't wait! :ok:

Every now and then, I like to reminisce and read that thread. It brings back happy memories for me: JAM's Picture Page From Vegas

If somebody gave me a free ticket to fly to California, I'd turn it town. I want to drive again and experience it, seeing how the rest of the country lives, meeting new people on the road. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I hope I get the opportunity to do it again.

JAM, I read the whole thread and enjoyed it a lot....that was from even
my pre-lurker days.
I've got my million miles driving and liked it, but you're missing a lot of
good experiences by not flying...get over it...just remember..the pilot
wants to land as bad as you do.

Your typo on spelling 'Pebble Beach' was unusual for you, but it gives
me the opportunity to tell a story.....
In the Arabic language there is no 'P' sound so many Arabic speakers
struggle with it and pronounce it 'B'....
Soooooo...
An Arab man was telling his friend that he was going on vacation to
Bombay.
His friend asked "Do you mean Bombay India or Bombeii Italy?'

LOL! "Pepple Beach." Sheesh! :grin-square:

I have been proofreading documents all weekend, and my eyes are so tired. I kind of think I need to quit proofreading. I have to finish this job by tomorrow, though. Yuck! :embarrassed2:

One word I learned in Arabic is Habibi, which means "my love" or "my dear."

For me, the threads I like best are:

1) anything to do with pool nostalgia and pool history, comparison of old times, styles and players with those of today

2) anything to do with women's pro pool

3) anything to do with the global pool scene, comparing the pool scene in America, Europe and Asia, as well as the players, trends and instructional methods

4) anything to do with pool politics, especially Ameican pool politics

5) anything to do with the emergence of new events

6) threads which track tournaments in progress, especially those in which attendees contribute

Good post. To the point. I like that!

I like the war stories best. I just love it when somebody comes on after an obscure reference to a little known hustler and says, "Yeah... And I was there when it happened", then proceeds to fill in all the details. Makes me feel like I was right there instead of where I really was, which was probably sitting in a boring desk getting a college degree I'd never end up using.

Good post!
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

We were all playing golf in Chicago back in the late 80s and Keith forgot his golf glove....we were waiting and said "come on Keith you don't have time to get another glove!" .....Keith said "I don't need no F%#@#*#% Glove" and preceded to sit down, take off his shoe and one sock, slipped the sock over his hand and hit one straight down the "pipe"....eeemagine that:wink:
