What kind of spot would you need to play a pro for money?

2 weeks ago Francisco Bustamante 9 ball race to 7 for €100.- a game here in Hamburg.

Andrew Cleary
8 Ball
Race to 5
I get all the breaks, I get to pick your suit whether I get a ball or not on the break, you have to hit a rail before pocketing the 8, you have to play with a house cue that I pick out and you have to play with a ping pong ball pinned between your chin and chest the whole time
$30

lol I guess I'll have to try.

I will play any pro but they have to use a broom stick. I hear it doesn't matter what they shoot with.

Shane can give a top regional player the 7 out wild in 10 ball race to 25 so that puts me needing the 2 out wild, counts on the break I'd say.

Id try the same game scooter played. on the 9ft diamond, 6 out n the breaks. I would put up 1500 -2500 myself and think i could get the rest to make it to 5g

bar box hmm prob the breaks and the 6 and 7 ball.

That's huge you having the breaks and TAKING them away from SVB but i dont know how you play so idk. Any game he is willing to give you though, you are the 75% underdog.

I think I would just need a spot to sit and enjoy watching a pro kick my butt. I would have a race to 100, I get 99 on the wire and all the breaks in order to win. And even then I am not counting my chickens...

for me
the skill spread is too great to make any spot fair

Depends on the pro. In the 90's i played the 52 nd ranked player (on some goofy tour) in the world about 30 to 40 times and lost once. He needed something like the 7 or 8.

Playing one of the monsters i think the orange crush would be about right and if it was too right i'd adjust. The crush is critical because you CANNOT give them control of the table 40 to 60% of the time via the break.

Last 3, and 4 games on the wire going to 8. Got this spot from a mid level pro, played all night and ended up down 1 or 2 sets. ($100 a set on a 9ft)

I think I have a spot that might even the odds and could be fair...

It's a position-type spot. The pro has to plant the CB within a certain sized shape (e.g., half-dollar, napkin, watermelon :)) after each shoot except the break, else BIH for me. I have no chance against their ball making ability and safety play, but I think there's a chance if they pay a penalty on not getting perfect shape. BIH for me is far from auto-win, but it'll be a challenge for both.
