Is the Bustie's Windmill Playground your type of stroke? Or is it minimalist like Pagulayan who almost has no backstroke (but enough for the shot at hand)

Have you always shot the cueball with the same back arm action or did you take lessons and they changed it?

Which one would you say is more approriate? Too loose or Robot?

why just extremes....how about somewhere in between...

Im working on changing my stroke from one that is long to one that is short. Im focusing on placing my bridge hand closer to the cue ball so I reign it in. I like how Deule hits the ball, he has a long bridge but his back stroke isnt too big. For me Im seeing that changing from loose to robot is helping me make more balls.

i look between shane and alex with a huge jump up right when i pull the trigger

Ditto! Though starting to get rid of that dreaded jump. Shane's stroke has got the length of Busti's yet has the picture perfect form of Alex's. You can see how Shane originally modeled his stroke after Busti's. You see the intial dropping which is basically the bottom of that windmill stroke and then he has almost a second move to his backstroke where he levels out. Just the way I saw it when I was able to watch a match of his from 5 feet away

Hi, why the jump up? does it help your game in a way or another? i've seen some people do this in the process of pulling the trigger (last stroke) then tend to bend up their back, as they finish the stroke they will be all standing up or at least (almost standing up position)

but I'm not sure if thats good, I've used to do it before, but i stopped. tell me about it more, thanks.

it's because i'm anxious and i want to see if i made the shot. it's horrible for my game and i miss the shot almost every time i do it. i miss about every other shot. it was sort of a joke about how bad i play

Well i stroke straight not a swoopy but definately not like a robot with i guess you would say a medium speed tempo....but i don't really stroke stroke stroke....i used to stroke 4-6 times but now it a ONE...TWO....deliver

Think matlock...

Stroke

Guys the pendulum swing. If more people did it there would be far more great pool players around. The windmill looks cool but we are not pumping water from a well we are trying to hit the cue ball consistently in the same spot.

"What kind of a stroke do you have?"-----Heat stroke:grin:
Sorry private joke.

I TRY to have a average length nice slow back stroke,a pause, and the forward stroke smooth with whatever speed the shot calls for. All while keeping the stroke level (no pendulum if i can help it)

Stroken it

I have a semi windmill kind of stroke. Helps me stay loose a d I hit the same spot on the ball. Do something long enough you eventually get good at it.

Bridge hand about 10-12 inches from the tip of the cue. Take 2 practice strokes with the tip of the cue coming within about an 1/8 of an inch from the cue ball, pause for a second or two, take the cue back slowly until the ferrul is touching my bridge hand, short pause, and follow through. Tip should be about 5-6 inches past my bridge hand and my back hand should be touching the inside/underside of my chest if I have executed the stroke properly.

What kind of stroke

I have the "nonexistent stroke " its very rare and difficult to duplicate , it also makes pool more of an adventure than a game. And much more difficult!

at the present time I have no stroke, its different everyday. I'm serious. I need to take a break, that will help me I'm sure. Nothing else has. I'm not a beginner either.
