If a players Org. was to happen, what pro do you believe would be the best leader and business type? Maybe it should should be just a business man/woman? Johnnyt

I think Bob Vanover might be getting too old....also Dick Lane...
...both have managerial abilities and an interest in the game.

So, he might hate me for this, but I recommend Bob Jewitt.

Obviously, he/she would have to be someone that the players look up to, trust and respect.

Tony Robles would be my suggestion.

Sure. The leader needs to be trusted and respected, but he/she would also need to
have business sense as the OP suggested.

I don't know Tony Robles. Whether he has any business sense is $10,000 question.

I would also say CJ Wiley is a good candidate.

He's respected and he has business sense for sure. Whether he can be trusted is the $10,000 question.

Heck, have both these guys take the lead together. The sum of their parts would be great.
I say make CJ the CO and Tony the XO. A team that is tough, smart, and can get the job done!

Savvy?

+1 for Tony. Don't discount Gail. She's very business-minded. The 2 of them make a very good team. CJ's industry experience is definitely valuable, as well.

Efren!

Ha ha. Why not?

He's super smart. Everyone looks up to him. He doesn't have a huge ego like others who have tried to run the sport. He speaks softly, but carries a big stick (on the table). He is very generous, and gives lots of his winnings to the poor in his community. All of these qualities may translate into bettering the oppertunities for future generations, and not just lining his own pockets.

Get rid of the greedy egomaniacs that have tried to run it in the past.

Given the amount of work that needs to go into promoting the game and rebuilding it with a lasting infrastructure, you need someone who is business person first and foremost. Someone with proven record and ultimately I would say someone outside of the game to get a fresh perspective. Pool needs to try something new if there is ever going to be different results.

Obviously I would prefer if they are a fan of the game, but running 100 balls, or even 50 shouldn't be part of the job requirement.
