so i have never really thought about what shoes i wear when playing pool

however last night I did went down to hit some balls and ended up in 1p action for 10 hours
i had summer tennis shoes on that are super thin and by the last couple of hours my feet were killing me

has anyone had this happen and what shoes do you recommend

before anyone thinks this is far fetched il have you know mika immomen and rodney Morris are both sponsoring "pool shoes" so maybe there is something to it

It's been covered many times before. I think consensus of opinion is: whatever is comfortable.

I usually head out to tournaments or to play almost right from work, drive home, pick up kid, head out. I make sure I change my socks and shoes before I go though. Believe it or not, those new socks make my feet feel better and I end up more relaxed and a bit clearer in the head after work and the drive in. I usually play in sneakers but mine are old and should be replaced, the compression in the soles and inserts is done for, and standing up for a while it starts to bother me enough that I start focusing on how my feet feel crappy rather than playing. If your shoes are older, maybe it's time to replace them or at least get new inserts.

Loafers

I have two pair of Johnson Murphy loafers that make you feel your standing on air. They are my favorites for Pool.

I think it's difficult to play well if you're not comfortable. That goes for too much food or drink before hand or tight restrictive clothing and uncomfortable shoes. I have a couple pair of sneakers that do well for me. Adidas or New Balance are pretty much the only ones I can wear for and be comfortable in. They are generally made wide enough to accommodate a triple E foot and are comfortable. I think Black Heart Tip had made a pool shoe, thy don't look good to me at all, unless I'm skateboarding for short periods of time

im guessing almost everything has been covered at some point

geez no wonder we cant get people into the sport where you ask an honest question and getting snarled at

for many who were maybe not active, busy, working, on vacation, sick maybe they did not check the thread on shoes

for sure it definitely hindered me (or maybe it was the 5am in the morning) ;)

but ye your right i ended up taking shoes off and playing barefoot for last few matches

I usually wear good tennis shoes. i notice a big difference in my play if i leave work in a hurry and forget my shoes and end up playing in my boots. they make me about an inch taller and everything feels off as a result.

Action, I wasn't kidding. Wear whatever is comfortable. I know a guy that plays barefoot in warm weather and in his socks in the cold weather.

I have the same problem, I usually head over to the pool hall right after work. I do have a pair of runners that I keep just for playing pool.

The last time someone asked about dress codes etc. I was informed that wearing dress shoes will make you slip on the carpet, which was horrible news to me. I've since been in terror of entering any building with carpet floors. On the other hand it explained why I'm constantly falling over when inside such buildings. I thought I was just clumsy. I have therefore designed my own shoe line based on these models, male and female versions respectively. The third one is the one I expect to sell the most of, for the discerning player on a budget:

(In all seriousness I use dress shoes and black loafers. Sometimes I will use other flat soled shoes)

When I am at the table I only shoot in:

Nike, Birkenstock, Sanuk, any flip flop, Johnston & Murphy, or any other shoes I own.

I only buy comfortable shoes, so I only shoot in what is comfortable.
