What Tips Do The Pros Use?

Earl has been using them for 2-3 years now.

he had switched to a layered tip, at least thats what he had on that meucci at the tulsa tournament. He did say he really liked the elk masters tho....i thought it was crazy the taper he had on his cue was straight back 25" !!! CRAZY Looking shaft.

What is 'milkduded' mean?

Thanks.

Soak it in something (such as milk) for a while, then compress it (in a vise, for example) to make it harder. If you do a search on milk duds, you'll probably find lots of information.

That's interesting info, Ghost. I haven't talked tips with Earl in quite a while but he was sold on them for a long time.

The shaft taper is his own design. He says it helps with some of those unbelievable stroke shots he uses in his exhibitions with Mark Cantrill and Team CSI.

Yep it sure is, He said that Bob would not even put the taper on the cue lol...don't know who did it but it was pretty sick. I couldn't ever shoot with that but yea I'm sure that it puts some freakish spin on the ball. From what I got from him the tip change was new, what kind it was I'm not sure....but he spoke really highly of the elkmasters.

I'm more of a triangle man myself but used elkmasters for years....theres nothing wrong with them by any means...just prefer how the pressed triangle holds up to the elk master or the milk dud.

I soak Triangles in Milk now.....I call them Thuds lol not really

I have tried about everything in regard to tips, and now a play with a triangle and have been for the last two years,Svb,archer and several other top pros also play with a triangle.I do cut about half my tip off when i get it put on(it just plays better that way)I use it on a 314-2 shaft

If it is good enough for Johnny it is good enough for me. I have tried lots of tips and haven't found anything better than triangle. Great tip despite being non-layered.

i used to play with layered tips, but now I just enjoy playing with simple triangle or milky elky tips.

I feel like back to basics works better for me. Less parts means less chance of something happening. Guess thats why Ive never been a fan of the ld shafts.
