I imagine most on here would just shoot the 7 with a stop shot, shoot the 8 in the corner, and then the nine in the corner for the win.
Not me! Nope, I bent down to get in my stance and promptly laid my cue right on the cue ball!I immediately stood up in absolute horror! I fight back from 2-1 down, and do this??? Talk about a sick feeling in your stomach! And, to make it worse, I look around to see the expression on my opponents face, and he isn't even there! He's two tables over watching T.V.!! Now, I also have to go over and get him, and tell the #&** that he has ball in hand. I did end up taking third though, so I got my moneys worth out of the tournament.
Talk about bonehead moves!!:embarrassed2::embarrassed2::frown: I did have to face him later on also, and got my revenge, got him 5-0!

These handicapped bar box tournaments can be brutal. I managed to find a way to play in a tournament this week myself. I was playing a race to 5 giving up the wild-7. I lose the flip, opponent runs out first two racks. Next break comes up dry so I finally get a chance and run out. May have run out the next rack or played safe first - can't remember. Anyways, I played some good distance safeties but not perfect (left some edges). Played safe back and forth throughout the match. End up losing the match 5-3. Opponent played a nearly perfect set. Only missed one very difficult extreme angle side pocket shot. I didn't miss any balls and was pretty much happy with my safes just wasn't my day.
Anyway, enough about me. Good work coming back through the losers side Neil. The way you lost would destroy most players I watch.
He earned it, but how often is a 3 going to make those 3 shots back to back to back??? Funny part with him- I was talking to him earlier, and he told me about the ONE other time he beat me. He got $10 in the tourney for beating me then, and he has it framed and hanging on the wall by his home table! Now he has another $30 to go with it.
I know it sucks for you to be on the losing end of that, but the impression you're making on the lesser players by playing with them, and being cool about it is huge. They see how to handle themselves, no matter how good they are now, or eventually will be. At least it would make that impression to me. (There are several guys here locally that I feel that way about. Makes you want to play them even more, even tho you probably don't stand a chance. Learning, and the challenge of playing a much better player can be fun, if the player is as cool as you sure seem to be.)
