What's a good cue cleaner you use?

You take a paper towel fold it over about 3 times, so you have a small square or there about.

Now take a container of Comet, yes the same powdered Comet that you use to clean in the bathroom.

Now pour a small pile of the Comet in the center of the paper towel, then wet your fingers under some running water and dribble a tiny bit of water on to the Comet powder and mix until it is a very dry paste consistency .

Now just turn your cue shaft side ways and run the paper towel with the paste back and forth on the shaft a few times until there is a thin layer of the paste all up and down your shaft.

Take the shaft stand it up somewhere, in the corner against a wall is a good place, in just a few, maybe five minutes the paste coating will turn a chalky white. This will tell you it's dry just take a towel and wipe it off.

This will have taken all the pool chalk residue off your shaft and bleached the chalk out of the pores and have taken away all the blueing that was on your shaft.

Here is a little trick.

For those of you that wash your hands after using the restroom ....take the paper towel that you use to dry your hands off, bring it back to the table with you and wipe your shaft down with the damp paper towel. Up and down about 8-10 times.

This will keep your shaft clean and after using the paper towel, the shaft will feel just as "slick" as if you had used 600 grit sandpaper on it.

What's the difference - denatured alcohol, regular rubbing alcohol?

In Canada we get 99.9% isopropyl alcohol. It goes pretty good with coke.
Blind you say, prolly wouldn't hurt my game muchly.

OK. The truth is out. Thats why some of his posts read like they do.
A quick fix on the spot is if your shaft gets a little gummy while playing just get a napkin and give it a brisk rub down.

Hey, we're talking about cues here. If you want porno graphies you have to go elsewhere as this is a family site.

Wondering whats in the Denver water. Maybe its the altitude.

Excellent thread.

One of the best on here.

Glad I created because I love to hear everyone's techniques. Everyone has there ways to clean and I have my old ways.

Good to learn new methods.

Do you use any type of sealer after this??

Carnuba wax--get a can of auto wax that says "pure carnuba wax" on the can (Mother's for the reading challenged).
Several people have recommended using carnauba wax so today I decided to go to the local auto parts store and check it out. In looking at the safety precautions on the can, it does say that it can be a skin and eye irritant. For that reason alone, I decided not to buy it.

I just wanted to put this out there that using carnauba wax on your pool shaft may not be advisable as it may irritate your skin and eyes.

My player's shaft is getting very blue. I use a damp towel to usually clean it but I am looking for some products or conditioner that may take the blue out.

How many good products are there?

What are some of the major brands?

I hate stick hands....

Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the Post!

Oxy Clean, 2000 grit paper, burnish with leather, then several coats of 3m marine wax. All done on a wood lathe.
