What's happening to AZ?

What the hell is happening to AZ Wanted, For sale? No pictures, no specs and now no prices also contact me for information. I think it should be mandatory to have at least one picture, some spec. and a price. Also PayPal as a gift, you have no protection if anything goes wrong. Set your selling price to cover the fees and let the buyer pay as goods. AZ was such a pleasure to browse, buy and sell and now you get a blurry I phone image with, specs to come later.

It should pretty much be against the rules of the "wanted/for sale" section to post a thread asking for Paypal as a gift.

That is what helps make the AZB for sale section into a haven for scammers and on top of that it is screwing over the online payment system that makes something like the AZB for sale section even possible.

Couldn't agree more.......the Forum seems to be going downhill.......just the number of visitors seems to be way down.....same too on listings for sale.........and then cues for sale without meaningful info or pictures......or how about the Facebook links instead of photos..........I don't even bother using those links to view the cue.........and the Paypal crap.........OMG........trust me and send me your money as a gift and hope you get the cue........and the cue is exactly as described since you can't lodge a complaint with Paypal.

There's also more vicious attitudes but I guess that doesn't change since it invariably seems to be the same asshol_ Azers doing it......you know the names.......and the criticism of prices of some cues listed for sale.......so what.......$10k for a custom Joss.......Look, it will never sell but leave these type sellers alone or else communicate via PM but don't post crap on that person's for sale thread.

I am reluctant to say this but the Forum seems to be shriveling up and I hope this isn't the sign of its demise.......a lot less Azers seem to be on the Forum regardless of the time of day.......I hope I am wrong.......when the Forum starts cleaning up its act......improves the server performance which really sucks at various times.......then I will renew my Gold Membership but not with the current state of affairs.

The For Sale section is fine. It's the sellers right to make his add any way he wants; price, no price, pics, no pics, specs, no specs, contact by PM only or not.. Quit whining... If you're interested in the cue do the work the OP requires to make the deal...You don't like the terms of the seller, move on. It's as simple as that...Last I checked it's still a "free" country AND forum...

the forum is a private venture and the owner needs to set rules that are in the best interest of the forum. which coincides with his best interest.

that means having ads that are worth looking at and generate interest in whats for sale.

those that put out poorly worded or misleading or deceptive ads need to be removed.

To skins, I guess you told me. I also have a right to express my opinion. In good selling , you show your product, explain the benefits of your product and price it accordingly. Or make into a mystery with no pictures, specs or price.

Absolutely you can gave an opinion and so can I... As far as "good selling", If you feel a sale that doesn't meet YOUR criteria then PM the seller and make a suggestion.. That's all you need to do. If you don't get the response you like then don't buy... By the way, "good selling" is subjective..

Just a thought: one problem may be that it's free. Make the price a measly $1 to post a new thread in the WFS section and suddenly sellers will have an incentive to care whether their ad has any possibility of resulting in a sale. That would make people more likely to post a decent picture, better description, and only post if they are willing to sell at a price that someone else is likely to pay. AZB would get a small revenue stream, too, but that's second order to making the WFS posts more useful.

Several Facebook groups are selling cues etc, easier for people to go that route I think.

Pics and spec fields should be uploaded and filled out or no post. Out of respect to AZ, It's a free listing to a target audience. *No disrespect to Dean:groucho:

This action would quell those sellers from being lazy, inept or just tossing product out there for possible bite or 'price check'. What's interesting is these same lame sellers have the time to bump every 48 on the 48 for weeks, months.

Have a good day,

I agree with the OP about what an ad SHOULD include. I would add that sellers SHOULD also include their real name and either real email address or phone number.

But I disagree that AZB should have a list of rules that sellers MUST follow. If a seller has no photos, that's his problem...I'm not interested without photos. If he doesn't offer a price...again that's his problem because I'm not going to shoot in the dark. And so on, but that's between me and the seller; no reason for AZB to get involved.

The For Sale section is a shadow of what it used to be. To be honest, the idea of adding MORE rules to it is probably great... but only in theory. The new set of rules is a big part of what drove traffic in the For Sale section down considerably.

I know a few people here who used to do a good amount of business through the For Sale section. Now, they all say the same thing: not much sales coming from AZ these days.

So paypal as goods eh? Doesn't that mean the buyer can dispute with his credit card company and basically steal a cue? I could be totally wrong but I'm curious?

Place is full of bangers and nits bumping the same cues for months. If it's priced too high it won't sell. I just scan titles for a few cue makers. It pains me to open some of them. Guys listing 8 separate cues instead of consolidating is clogging up the forum.

Sending paypal as a gift is screwing paypal out of well deserved comission and gives the buyer no recourse if the sender doesnt send the cue or has horribly misrepresented the condition/is a fake, etc. I would not buy anything from someone i didnt know unless i used paypal (not as a gift). I still wouldnt use paypal as a gift if i knew the buyer because they provide a valuable service and are welcome to their cut.

Will it ever be a perfect system on either side? Probably not. If someone filing a fake credit card dispute is a concern, contact paypal to determine the best way to protect yourself when selling something (pictures/video of the item when it is being shipped, tracking number with signature requirement, insure the package, etc).

For Sale section comment !
