What's happening to AZ?

I checked out the Wanted for Sale section and viewed three threads and to my dismay none had a price, two had no price or specs. One was an expensive Black Boar and seller protected the price for a future sale. Why do sellers go through the effort of posting pictures and create a mystery instead laying all there cards on the table for buyers to see and purchase. This is not E'Bay or Lets make a Deal on whats behind door number 1. There should be a rule on including a price with the thread and at least one picture.

Beats me,,, no pics is always another turn off for me. I know the seller(s) may be totally reliable, but it doesn't take that much more effort to post a couple pics. Also when they post and put hardly any cue specs,,.. I just like to have all the info up front.

no pics, no price= absolutely minimal interest to me. if you're protecting future income, do it. this posting takes my time up. I don't give my time up freely. doing it for little return isn't happening for me.
hundreds of postings out there, not just a few. szamboti's to noname, unknowns. of course Westinghouse micarta shafts do get me going, price or no price.

Although I prefer prices, good descriptions and prices as well the seller can put as little or as much in an ad as they choose to. I just move on if I don't like what is going on.

With certain very desirable high end cues I do understand the "why" of not posting a price--some potential buyers don't want others to know what they paid for the cue. This is the way is is and has been here for many years I've been here.

True... Serious buyers will ALWAYS be serious buyers regardless. The rest that need "conditions" are not.....

TOTALLY agree. Post the fkn price!!! I see ZERO point in posting a pic and description and no price. Why all the JamesBond shit?

AZ died a few years ago, IMHO. There was once class on this forum, im not sure where it went. I strictly use AZ for research now.

Regarding protecting profit from potential future sales on high dollar cues, if someone is willing to shell out 5k or more for a cue, odds are they have enough money to not care what a cue is posted at price wise. Delete the price after the sale. Unfortunately I don't think those high dollar cues get used and are strictly invesments in the form of a pool cue.

I do not like it but then I do understand with super high end. Generally but not always it's the jealous folk who complain.

I do not understand lack of pics and specs. I also do not understand no price on low-mid end. But then, there is allot I do not understand:groucho:

Have a Merry Christmas,

-Kat,

To take what Jazz and Pool and Skins said a little further, say you are buying a cue for $10K. Making that public knowledge could make buying another cue more difficult as the seller starts comparing his cue to the previous purchase. Same can be said on the other end if you are selling.

A voice of reason... A rare thing here..

How and why does everyone need to know who buys a cue? I've always displayed interest and purchased through PM's.

I can think of several good reasons to keep a cue's asking price private.

Besides satisfying the curiosity of spectators, profiteers and tire-kickers, or trying to manipulate the market, I don't see why anyone would ever post the price for a high dollar cue.

I am new here so this may be a reason for it I'm not sure. I think there are a lot of people out there that are asking prices on items close to retail. There are many people that will not disclose negatives. On the other hand many buyers will try to low ball sellers. Society has changed. If you want to sell something describe it clearly with price.

Almost Never!!!

I don't post a lot on the for sale for a few reasons..

#1 When I do Post it normally gets almost immediately drowned away by the Same Cues Over and Over.
#2 You don't know who you are dealing with. Known Scammers and Low Life's are able to just make a New Screen Name and buy and sell with No effort.

Unless it's an established good guy like Deanoc, no pics is a red flag to me.
.....if someone was selling a high end stolen cue, he would not post the pic.

Posting pics, listing price... None of it matters. Either youre interested or youre not. If you are inquire. If not move on. As for scammers, no one can be scammed if they havent put themselves in the position to be in the first place. Has nothing to do with how someone decides to list THEIR item.....

Finally, another reason not to list price. Here is an age old question, how do you measure the effectiveness of your advertising? Very hard. The number of views means nothing, what is the level of interest? Serious buyers will inquire via PM or E mail. If you are a legitimate seller you can open a dialogue. A good deal must be fair for both parties.

Wrong ,, a interested buyer can't be overlooked in any sales

OABTW I called you twice the other day 240 area code

If they're truly "interested", they will inquire regardless of the details.... That weeds out all the tire kickers and lowballers... Works every time..

In fact when I have someone inquire I only give details over the phone... That weeds out even more...

An interested buyer would have no problem exchanging the 45 seconds it takes to write a pm for privacy of sale.

Curiosity and interest are not the same.

I think any ill will a "potential" buyer may have over a price not being listed stems from the realization on some level that they probably won't be able to "steal" that particular cue.
