Identify this wood by it's end grain.
How much of the blue-green color in the pic is light reflection?
My first guess would have been an Ebony. But, then, I remember one of the first pieces of Cocobolo we bought. It had that blue-ish glare. I'm thinking the breaks in the grain aren't quite right, but it does remind me an awful lot of that piece of Cocobolo. Could it be?
I don't see any blue-green. I was going to say blackwood too but it's not that, soooo, I'll say some grainy gabon ebony.
No blue or green in this wood, only black and brown. As before, this is not any species of Dalbergia.

Is it time for a clue? The country this wood is harvested from has the Atlantic Ocean for it's northern coastline.
