I'd like to find out, also. So far the items most everyone has in common are a tip tool and something to wipe the shaft.nick55 said:sorry to hijack the thread a bit here but i noticed AZE said only use with alcohol by the magic eraser, is this true? i use one to clean my shaft once in a while but i havent been using alcohol, should I? thanks
Magic Eraser works OK with alcohol, but works much better with water when you need serious cleaning. There was a thread a few months ago that explained the reason. Just wipe well with 91% alcohol when you're done to evaporate any excess moisture, and tape off the joint between shaft and ferrule so no water creeps in. IMO, ME is for serious cleaning at home, since you will need to spend some time polishing and burnishing before shaft is ready to play. I carry some disposable alcohol pads and a microfiber cloth in my case for cleaning at the hall, as well as a piece of unfinished leather and/ or brown shopping bag pieces for burnishing.nick55 said:sorry to hijack the thread a bit here but i noticed AZE said only use with alcohol by the magic eraser, is this true? i use one to clean my shaft once in a while but i havent been using alcohol, should I? thanks
