First off i know this was asked several times before but i can't find that thread and the search function doesn't work because the word Tip is under 4 letters so it results in pages and pages of threads that's totally unrelated.

I used a Cuetec Tip Tool and that's really compact and good to use but when shaping new tips it's too difficult. I used to own a Mezz Tip Tool and that was great too until i lost it..

I'm looking to buy a new tip tool that's compact and easy for shaping. Any recommendations? If you've one for sale let me know too.

There is an exception to every rule. Everything Cuetec is trash EXCEPT there tip tool lol I've had one for about 8 years I think and it works great.

To shape a new tip put it on the floor ...hold it between your feet so it doesn't move. put the tip down in it and spin it between your hands like your trying to start a fire. gets the job done quick.

If u do that way leather will burnish and miscue a LOT
 
Joel Pope a member on here has one he makes, I think it is called Last4ever, last4ever.net. It is great, I got one and love it. Good luck. Tom

Here are some pics. It is a little bulky, but has a carrying case with it. It does an excellent job too.

I prefer the "Ultimate Tip Tool". Also have an old Willard's, the Cue-Tech tip tool, a mushroom shaver (must-have) and a Porper burnisher. All of them have their uses, but I think the Ultimate Tip Tool is the best all-around tool to actually carry around with you.

Thanks, just checked out his site and they do look pretty good. Unfortunately he wouldn't ship overseas but thanks for the recommendation :smile:

I agree that the cuetec tip tool is pretty good, i never thought to hold it in place with both feet...that should do the magic. Thanks for the heads up!

I also use the Last4Ever tip tool. I used the Willard tip shaper for years until I purchased Joel's tool. Try either one - you'll like it.

+1 for this. Shaper, scuffer, trimmer, tapper and burnisher all in one tool.

Joel Pope's last4ever

and

Willard shaper

these are all you would need.
