WOW that is good news

I guess all we ever hear is the bad news. I am glad he is back on the tables. The story in Billiard Digest was a tearjerker.
I have a story about Kim that makes me smile everytime I remember it. I was living in Springfield, Missouri at the time. Danny Harriman, who was still just a kid, maybe 20 or so, and Kim were supposed to have a challenge match. If I remember right it was some kind of promotion of some sort. Springfield was pretty blessed with some good players, including Danny, Darrin Everett, and other pretty sporty players.
After Kim had done some trick shots and demostrations, asks for anyone from the crowd to play a rack. "Little Andy" who was about 12 at the time, jumps up and challenges Kim. Kim humors him a little and gives him the first break. Little Andy, jumps up and runs 2-3 racks. Kim bows his head and shaking it "no". Kim was a real good sport and jumped up and played full speed which was impressive.
Later, Danny and Kim matched up in a goodwill challenge match. I really dont remember who had won, as most of us locals were still laughing about the previous challenge match.
Kim was professional, fun and an excellent ambassidor for the sport.
"Little Andy"? I think he moved to Tulsa and I occassionally see him at tourneyments in action rooms, and is always at DCC.
