Whats the next match - Tony Chohan Vs Frost or Pagulayan?

So I have been watching the Tony Chohan vs Dennis Orcollo match from the beginning and must say I was blown away! Chohan has incredible shot making ability and to play under that kind of pressure is truly brilliant, another class, another world.

Anyway, what other masterpiece is in the making? will it be Chohan vs Frost or Chohan vs Alex Pagulayan etc etc ?

I play one pocket with a friend in Perth, Western Australia and are most likely the only two one pocket players in Australia :-) so we still have a lot to learn BUT one thing I know after watching this match is that rotation games and 8ball fall a long way short in terms of skills such as shot making and tactical play in comparison to one pocket IMHO.So it is fantastic that the game is making such a significant reemergence and rightly so!.

When we first started playing we had come from 8ball and 9ball and I personally found one pocket boring, particularly when all of the balls where at the far end of the table. However, now after learning the basics of it have found it is the only game I want to play.

The great thing is that you can break and get lucky and pot a ball or place the opponent in an impossible position and then use all of your positional skill to either run 5 or 6 balls or out. However, the next game could take an hour under completely different tactical playing conditions. Also, you can be 7 balls down and still feel you have a fighting chance. It is that diversity of scenarios and shot making which I find sets the game ahead of the others which can sometimes turn one dimensional after playing long sessions.

Anyway still buzzing from the match :-)
Do you gamble? One-hole was invented as a GAMBLING game. Put a few quid/lira/peso/bucks on the outcome and its a MUCH more enjoyable game. Don't have to bet high but enough so it matters to both players.

Tony plays better one pocket... Dennis was outmoved the whole time... I'm not the best one pocket player/mover but I could see it... So many times Dennis had him 6-0 7-1 count and would let Tony back in... Tony just understands the game better. But I have talked Dennis many times and he says he don't like one pocket really, it's his worst game, & he thinks Alex is the best player, Efren before him. I have heard Dennis has beaten Alex many times for big money in the Philippines playing long sets of 10 ball.

I am not convinced the Tony can beat dennis
I would bet a little on Dennis if they play again

two things1
Dennis missed several easy easy shots

Tony appeared to get away with a large amount of rocket shots

I doubt Dennis could or will miss so often again
I thik Dennis out moves Tony on a regular basois

The extremely aggressive rocket shots make him look good
but to my way of thinking Tony is not the better player

Both players are great, but Dennis is my pick and i will
take him for $1000 if they play again

overall it was fun to watch and I hope to see it again

I don't think you're giving enough credit to Tony.
Dennis is used to being the alpha male in his matches....when he played Scott, he got a
lotta shots....and Scott missed a lot of half-tough ones.
But Tony is a rock...win or lose, he won't be intimidated....so on some of Dennis' turns he
was hearing foot steps.

Tony put the Cho in Macho.....I think I'll call him Machohan

You are right. Scott missed some shots I never have seen him miss giving Dennis too much air. Dennis also shot his way out of traps and probably was pocketing at 99%. I saw Dennis miss more balls on day 1 against Tony then he did the whole match against Frost. If he pocketed as he did against Frost he would have beaten Tony.

I think an exciting match would be Tony and Scott once Scott is playing again. I doubt that will happen anytime this year as we just opening out place 3 weeks ago. People fail to realize we were opening the Ice House and Scott had not been playing besides 2 weeks of practice with locals before the Dennis match. Dennis did shoot lights out but Frost was probably at 75% ability I felt. Never saw him shoot that bad honestly.

So now everyone thinks Dennis is the best in the world after playing Scott which is why he was a huge favorite against Tony. Sorry but if he plays Alex he will not like it. I don't think Tony will like playing Alex either. Alex vs Dennis will be slow and boring because of the pace of play, you will have to do drugs to stay awake. It will be like Mayweather fighting Mayweather. :p

I thought you watched the whole match.

It's clear that Dennis really doesn't know how to play the game. His only upside is that he can bank really well and he does know how to run balls.

The problem for Dennis is that Alex doesn't sell out anywhere near as much as much as Tony or Frost.

We both know they'll never play a big match, but I'll take Alex for $100 just in case it ever goes down.

Yet he's won just about every big one pocket turney there is at one time ,Yes he doesn't try the wild shots but that's because he relies on his straight shooting ,great cueball control and his safety ability in which all were clearly off you hadn't noticed..
His backer is who makes the big money games and I'm pretty sure controls the other matches for the belt also as this is his brain child ,,

I agree

When is the last time two Filipinos have played a big money match vs each other?

Bingo! Probably won't happen anytime soon, at least not here. Now if you go to the Philippines it's happening every day!
The one man who has the most trouble matching up over there is...ding, ding, ding, DENNIS! I've seen him give ungodly spots to good players and beat them. Try giving up 30 points in Rotation sometime. He does it all the time just to get a game!
