Curious on your thoughts here! I have my shot in mind, but I'm an idiot.

Dennis is playing to the top-left pocket [as shown in the picture]

Bank the 9, duck behind the 7. I don't know if that's the shot, but I damn sure, didn't like the way he just rolled the balls in front of his pocket, away from his pocket.

I didnt watch the steam but the 6 looks like it goes or shoot the 9ball straight on to bank into the pack to push balls to my side, shoot it with draw to put the cueball about where it is before shooting it.

See Disclaimer... (plus I dont play much 1 hole)

I dont believe it is possib to bank 9 to other side and stol behind 7. I think the 9 would stop near center table,Shooting with proper speed to stop cb behind 7.

I dont think the pic provides enough info to really evaluate the choices.

Having seen dennis play though, i am guessing he is cutting that 6.

Having watched that game..i don recall wha he did.

Dennis played a bad safe/tried to move balls to his side.

I wanted to see him bank the 9 into the 12, the 12 hits the 11 off the 2 and goes. If he makes it, lots of balls are now open to his hole. You might even drag the cue into the 7 to really leave Tony tough.

I don't think the double-kiss can be avoided, at that angle. Not with the desired speed anyway...

But, if we want to be daring in our proposals, I like firing the 6 to graze the 2 and carom off the 5, into the pocket. Even if it doesn't go, the 5 goes 3 rails toward the hole, and you can draw the cue back to the end rail, in front of Tony's pocket.

Safety. Hit 6 into the 5 over to long rail Bring cue up to short rail. Leaves Cue on short rail, 6, 5, and 2 open on your side of table. No sure shot for opponent.

I see three possible choices here. 1. Cut the six in but where is his next shot? 2. Cross the nine, banking it into the bottom balls and moving balls toward his hole. To do this correctly he would need to hit the seven with the cue ball to stop it along the side rail. Pretty tough to execute properly. 3. Bank the nine into the eight ball, sending balls to his side and changing the look of the table dramatically. He can do this and draw the cue ball back to the middle of the end rail closest to him. Probably the easiest shot to execute and may pay dividends in future innings. Very doubtful he did this though. Dennis is never afraid to go for a hard shot if he thinks it will give him the best result.

He spent considerable time looking at the cut on the 6, the Carom with the 6, and the 11 ball bank. He didn't like any of them, and came up off the shot pretty quick, after getting down to look at it.
Earlier I should have said cross the 9, instead of bank it. You obviously couldn't try to make it, just use it to play safe.

That 9 is absolutely bankable, just not by dennis over the course of the match.
Cb goes 3 rails around the table, long...unfortunately.

I say it is only a bit tougher than cutting the 6 (a BIT, aka: more than a 'little bit')

I like banking the nine through/toward the gap between the 6 and 11, soft enough to get it on my side and stick the CB off the rag behind the 7, maybe get lucky and even bump the 7 up behind the 14.

The cut on the 6 looks to be high percentage from the pic, but how knows.....otherwise, tap the 6 just past the 5 to the rail with soft draw, lock the que ball up in a wedge with the bottom of the 11 and the other strip right next to it. Best I can see from here.

As I recall, Dennis shot the six into the four-five, attempting to put it in front of his hole. The outcome was not that favorable for him if I remember right. Two balls were out in the open for his pocket but Tony was able to clear them out. Need to watch this one again to be sure.
