My Other:

Running 2 or 3 rails with inside, hit from distance. Or cutting ob in 1/2 ball below the spot with inside, to hold and come back straight downtable.

Everything else is OK enough to have fun. This inside stuff kicks my butt. I'm wearing out the cushions near the pocket from missing to both sides.

The weakest part of my game is this damn forum.......aka...the game destruction app.

After nearly 100 votes, it's interesting at this stage to see the (fairly even) distribution of weaknesses across various areas of the game.

When I first made the poll, I wrongly anticipated that there would be much heavier clumping around positional play and 'other'. I didn't think that stamina would get so many votes for example ...and I didn't think that most of the other options would receive so many votes overall.

I guess this is one of the reasons that pool is so much fun and so interesting. Each aspect of the game has at least some bearing on the chances of winning or losing, and each player has different strengths to which he or she inevitably attempts to play.

It's like we're all Japanese trading card battle monsters or something.

also i find it very hard to play my best unless i have $$$ in action, even if its just $10, i need to have something bet. i have a couple friends i dont gamble with and thats ok or when i play alone im fine, but other than that i need $ in action or i get lazy....

Now THIS I understand.

Even playing for a beer really helps me to try 100%.

Not being able to send Whitey from A to the point where Whitey need to be send^^

Usually always the same problem :-)

Seems to be everybody's biggest problem if you look at the poll results. Let's face it, if we all had whitey on a string, most of the other problems would disappear.

Shooting when the cue ball is frozen to a cushion; and exponentially more so as the distance to the object ball or pocket increases.

A pro taught me to aim a little fuller in this situation.

It works.

Sometimes.

Cueing

I don't cue as well as they do. This affects everything. If I could deliver my cue as consistently straight as they do I could play with them, but I can't. Still working on it though.

I voted other.

Playing jacked up either to try to draw back with the CB close to the rail or an object ball right behind the cb

I think if I could remake the poll I'd include that among the options.

Still though, after 123 votes it's interesting. ...A big spread of weakest elements. It seems though that nearly everyone is confident playing top, and that nearly all of us need to work on our stamina.

I actually find my stamina to be pretty good, but I do really struggle with starting slowly in matches. If it's a longer race, like to 21 or something, then you can fade coming out of the blocks slowly, but in a race to 9 or 7, giving up the first few games just kills you.

It's definitely something I need to work on, but I need to find the time to play more often first.

Other

The parts of my game that are good or bad, depending how you look at it, fluctuates. What hurts me the most is consistancy.

My worst is probably measuring the force of the hit, which leads to terrible position play. I never use masse shots, so I wouldn't call it a weakness. Sometimes I have problems with stamina, and occasionally I don't enjoy playing in front of audience.

Also, I hate playing by standard rule set, only regional bar rules for me :P

First off I lack the overall confidence I would need to turn pro at this stage in my game. I've only been actively playing and trying convert from a banger since the past 2 years or so.

For me my weak spots are position play. This is due to a few different factors like not being able to judge shot speed, poor use of english, lack of knowing exactly where whitey is headed with whatever type of english, lack of knowing how english will effect the object ball I'm shooting.

These are all things I'm working on. I've been stepping up my practice to the hardcore level for about 2 months now. Every single day I go to my basement to shoot and work on mechanics and understanding whitey for around 2 or 3 hours, or however long my back can handle.

I don't own any instructional videos. I do watch a ton of youtube videos especially while I'm 'working' since my job is fairly easy for me to do and doesn't require my constant attention all the time. I also watch tons of pro tournaments to try and glean info from them. I'm waiting to buy instructional videos because I want my first instructional video purchase to be the ones Shane is going to release. I idolize the guy and watch as much of him as I can. He's my Micheal Jordan now. Sell some shoes Shane
