What's the worst move you have ever seen?

I played a weekly handicapped tournament at Chris's in Chicage. My opponent ate a bag of chips, crinkeling the bag real loud. That didn't work so he stood directly in my line and dropped his pants.

I also enjoyed kentucky jims one pocket steal a ball move. He would reach his hand in his opponents pocket to see how many he had, then he would palm a ball and place it in his own pocket while it seemed he was just checking to see how many he had also. lol!

Jimmy Z is the only thing wrong with Family Billiards.... What a jack...

So I've seen some basic moves pulled during some gambling matches but nothing that crazy. Talking, wiggling, standing at the table, playing bad music, grabbing the $ off the light and running out the door, etc. What are some of the more creative moves you have seen and what were they playing for. If you can say who then do tell.

i won't say who, but twice i have had bad experiences with women that were stunned they were on the loosing end of the set (quite an insult to my game to say the least, but obviously a shark move to rawl me up). one actually tried to say she had one the majority of the games when she had merely one or two in a long race; the other had me recount every nine ball made in the set when on the hill (this from an eventual pro player) - how i remembered, i have no idea, but the pool gods must have been watching over me because out of nowhere, i spouted them off and she just sat there in a stunned state. the hardest part about that was i played in the zone most of the time, so i truly have no idea how i remembered it. just goes to show, if you are on the right side of the law, justice will prevail :D shame on them.

good for you!

Funny thing about the zone I can sometimes remember tiny details that weren't important, even months later. I wasn't disturbed by them at the time but my mind was filtering everything.

Moving a coin from diamond to diamond after every game keeping count is a good practice to counter such folks as you met up with.

I was living in Dallas in the mid 70's and played at the "8 Ball", a 24x7 room on Lemmon Ave. I had become a regular B+ player there and friends with the guy that ran the place and his 2 brothers, so my back was pretty much covered. Rusty, an ex-con with no neck and some serious karate skills, would steer me away from the road players and locals I couldn't beat. The bar was in the center of the place with a half-door opening into the back room tables. It could be a pretty rough place at times so I usually played the big tables in the front or played on the table in the back closest to the half-door. A few brawls erupted over the years in the back room and would sometimes end with a couple well placed .380 rounds fired from the half-door of the bar by Rusty to the steel exit door at the back of the room, so I never really cared to venture deep into that jungle for action.

Anyway, I am playing this guy on that closest table in the back room and had lost 2 games and paidup $10 after each game to this guy sporting a wild Afro, before I won my first game. He finished racking the balls and walks back over to where I was standing on the break end and says "break-em". I told him I am just waiting to settle up and he immediately took the butt end of his house cue instantly and pinnned me up against the wall on my tip toes with the butt shoved up against my throat and adams apple to where I could barely breathe, in a launching stance ready to full force it into my larynx and starts demanding my wallet. Before I could even react, I here "Shove it! Shove it!" and while I couldn't really turn my head I looked over and to the half-door and there was Rusty holding his 380 pointed right at the guys temple from about 4 foot away. Slowly the guy eases the butt from my throat and Rusty says "Damnit man, I told you to shove it..%$##$$ I want to see your brains spray across the room! So now you've got 5 seconds to make make it out that exit before I shoot your ass! One.. "

The guy dropped the cue and was outta of there like his ass was on fire!
I still didn't get my $10, but the show was worth $50. When I told Rusty thanks for catching my back.. his response was " F*** you man, I wanted him to shove it so I could see his brain matter."

A true maniac, but that's what makes great muscle.

You should tell another Rusty story in the Legendary Muscle thread. Seems he meets the qualifications :)

There was this one guy who I would not say was model material, he was on the heavy, hairy, sweaty side. In any case, whenever I was sufficiently up during a set he would, quite deliberately, develop a bad case of plumber's crack. I'm not gonna lie, I was disgusted and lost the set, essentially the fear of his fat ass made me choke, and the laughs of onlookers made it difficult to concentrate. Afterwards I couldn't help but note the element of psychological warfare this otherwise dense fellow was able to come up with.

First time I ever heard that term. Googled it. It refers to "buttock cleavage."

Gross.

He freakin' dropped his pants??

Wow, I play there all the time, never caught that one.

How many players were in the room, and did others see it?

Just For Drinks

My buddy and I were playing doubles in a busy bar just for drinks. Two hot chics got up. I didn't want to lose because there were about 10 sets of quarters up and it would have taken 2 hours to get back up. Anyhow, I run down to the 8 and it's dead straight in the corner. I'm in mid stroke and one of the chics gives me the reach around and grabs my junk from behind. I scooped the cue ball and jumped over the 8 and swooshed it in the corner pocket...nothing but net. For some strange reason I just couldn't get mad about it.

It's Pat !!!

Well, I hope this fits into the "move" category, I think it does.

Back when a local room was still open, there was a person that used to come in now
and then named "Chris". The person shot OK, and I had seen folks play Chris now and then,
but at the time, I thought I was below Chris's level, and turned down offers to play some
sets of nine-ball.

Well, one day, we did start playing a set. After a while, some of my friends came in, who did
not know Chris. They were watching for a while. They were trying to make conversation with
me, and it was a little tough though, because I honestly did not know if it was a man or a woman.

After I while, I had to find out, as it started bothering me. No one could tell me for sure.
All I got was shoulder shrugs, and a slight smile from them.

You don't know how hard it is to try and talk about someone when you don't know whether
to say she or he. I had to struggle to phrase things like "this sharpshooter".

And later, about half the folks asked me how I did against "em", or against "er", and it was quite funny.

I did find out at a later point in time. No one knew for sure if the clothes, hairstyle, etc., was intentional.

Very similar to "Pat" on the original "Saturday Night Live" show.

I was playing a guy at HardTimes once and as I got down on a shot with him in my line of sight he starts waving his cue in his hand. I let it go and decided to wait and see if he did it again. Sure enough, the next time I got down on a ball with him in my line of sight he starts waving his cue again, so I stood up and told him to stop doing that. He acted surprised, said he didn't know that he was doing it, and then proceeded to walk halfway across the room and stand there until I was through shooting!

you are gonna love this - the first was while using beads on the ceiling and the other was with coins, YET, there was a huge issue with both nutjobs. people that know me, know i don't have to cheat to beat them, nor would i if i couldn't win. you just never know what you will run into.

I had a friend go to a small- medium size town Got into action with a good player known for gambling owners son of a pool hall they played $900 sets my friend loses the first set they lose the poolhall agree to come back in the morning to play more so he pays him. Comes back in the morning my friend wins the first two sets up $900 hasnt gotten paid yet about to start a 3rd set when the other guy tells him he has to make a phone call comes back in stalls for for few minutes grabs some food and talks a little. 10 minutes latter the police come in yelling thier is illegal gambling going on everyone has 5 minutes to pack up and leave or go to jail.... so my friend left stuck never getting paid and out the orginal $900.

Noone plays with that guy anymore either. I havent heard anything new about it just chalked it up as a lesson..
