In my opinion, the red circle cue ball is a better ball.
How can an event with 10 or so tables not have the same equipment? That's not asking much? Plus, the red circle ball does not even come with any set made in the past 20 years probably. Why are they using it period? They should have the Aramith Tournament set, which replace the Aramith Super Pro, as the top of the line Aramtih set 5 years ago. That is what's on the TV table.
For that matter, why don't the ref's have ball markers so they can lift the balls out of the rack? We've been using template racks for 10 years. Come on, balls getting stuck on them happen at least a few times per match where you need to carefully mark the ball.
Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. 40 years, and still all over the map, still not professional.

Most likely Diamond wanted to send the made in China Cyclop balls with the weird CB and someone at the Open didn't want them, so they had to scramble for new balls. Those TV dotted balls cost about $30 each also.Johnnyt
I've held several professional events lately that involved Johnny Archer, Rodney Morris, Dennis Orcollo, Roberto Gomez, Skylar Woodward, Justin Bergman, Allison Fisher, Jayson Shaw.
Every one of them wanted to use the measle ball.
did anyone check if its just the ball that comes with those aramiths? castle billiards has those balls and the cueball is not the measle.
but thank god they gave you something to complain about

Exactly........I bet if you asked 100 of the top players in the USA,most would say the same thing.John B.
Red circle cueball does not come with any set of balls made by Aramith/Sulac
It is sold as an aftermarket cueball.
The new Aramith Tournament set of balls comes with a cueball that has a black logo.
The Super Aramith Pro Cup set comes with the measle ball.
Super Aramith Pros come with a red aramith logo cueball.

It's all about consistency.
Every person should be playing on/with the same equipment. PERIOD.
None of this mix and match crap.
Red circles are trash.
Brand new cue balls...Red Circle or Measle are good.
But if you're in the pool room, let those cue balls get a year old and the flaws show up on
the measle balls....some of those red spots become slightly flat.
In our room, we have some red circles that came with Diamond smart tables.....
....they play better than the Measles
Yup, and ask 100 old farts on azb and they'll say something else, the contrary bastards lol.
