What's up with Williebetmore being banned?

I just notice Willie has Banned written under his username.

He's about the most well mannered and considerate poster on this forum. It's hard to believe he would ever get banned.

So how did this happen?

I did noticed he criticised Macguy in John Schmidt's thread, but it seemed a reasoned and appropriate response to me.

Any info?

Just like your name has "Benders Back on the Road:..... Betmore put Banned...... kinda clever if you ask me.

Well, I wish I could take credit for it, but it was a practical joke played on me by my son (or some other evil-doer in my office) while I was away from my computer.

Now that I see it, I kind of like it - it might fool the moderator's, allowing me carte blanche in criticizing that $%$#$#% breakup. On the other hand, it kind of clutters things up; I'll fix it.

Hard question to answer Hal.

Came here for a bit of adventure almost 6 years ago and liked the place. Entrepreneureal atmosphere, pretty girls. Anyway, got into some biz projects and just stayed here.

There are things I don't like much about China...weather, undeveloped businesses and business thinking and comunication / organization difficulties come immediately to mind. Still, there are things I don't like about Australia such as it becoming a nanny state and that nothing seems to change there, that make the decision to stay here or leave a tough one.

It had me puzzled aswell, even went through his and Mr. Wilson's last posts. Then the quarter dropped.

Are you Australian? I've spent a good few months there over the years, and have most of my family have moved there. I loved it, and I was very close to settling in Sydney. In the end, I decided to keep pursuing living in the USA which I eventually did. If I got the opportunity to have a one year secondment to Oz, I'd be on the first plane out. I definitely recommend living and working abroad.

Yes, I'm an Aussie, grew up in a city just out of Melbourne.

It's often more fun being in a strange place. In Shanghai, there are around 300,000 foreigners in the city for work, business trips or holidays, so a night out on the town is usually quite interesting. Though the novelty wears off.

I miss the Aussie weather, beaches, bush, friends, family, pool events and occassionally the food.

What city outside of Melbourne?
I visit about every year for month or so. I stay out in Lilydale. great place to live and use the train to go into the city often. I play at Princes/Pool room/ used to play at Cuesports. I haven't been to Kings yet, I should be there in March 07.

Next trip I will travel to Geelong, I haven't been there yet. I heard that Johl Younger plays there. I'll get Peter Gray, the coach, to take me down for a visit.

Johl's parents run a pool club in Geelong, but Johl now lives on the Gold coast where he operates a night club and a stripper club :eek:
 
Aussies

I've met a few Aussies in my time.....Some here in the states and some abroad. Spent a Christmas and New Years in Naples Italy (US Navy) with a Ship full of Auusies. Played Cricket on the pier, and had a local bar close up early (unheard of in Napoli) because we were getting to rowdy.....Good times.

Every Aussie I've ever met has had a cool name to....Like Slawie, or Mic, or Derrick, or Wally....

Ok Mic and Wally are from the movie, but Crikie give a yank a break...:D
