they should make these polls non anonymous so we can woof at all the 9s

I am a SL 9. I think the APA version of nine ball is not a bad game, but I agree it is pretty difficult to participate on a team with a handicap limit of 23. I agree with the poster who said the posters here are more likely to be higher numbers. This could be shown by giving a poll to only APA memebers: "Have you ever heard of AZbilliards?" My guess is most haven't.

I don't play APA 9-ball anymore because of the handicap limit. Too difficult to get a team together. However I will say that the best thing I took away from APA 9 ball is a much bigger respect for *control* on the break. Playing APA 9 ball made me really focus on a controlled break shot. This has helped my "real" 9 ball game tremendously.

I do not know, don't care, don't do APA!

i try to get along, i really do. especially with you cowboy. but then you do something like this and it sends me over the edge. so then why post? just to be a jackass? if you aren't involved then quietly go away and let those of us who are involved and are interested discuss. you can find another thread about trying to split a penny, being old and complaining, living in the desert, or one of the many other things you are prone to discussing. let those of us who participate the apa talk, b*tch, and read about it without having you chime in "duuuuuuuuuhh i don't play i don't care". i am a 6 by the way in both 8 and 9.

I was a 9 while I played in the American Pool-Nazi Association. I had great LOs but it just isn't any fun if you are a stronger player...you almost never get to play because of the points rule.

I would guess that most of the people that picked 9 are "retired" 9s and thus the percentage would be higher than the number of active 9s in the APA. Although I have never played APA, so take my words with a grain of salt. I picked 1 because I have no APA rank :D

I'm surprise there isn't more 9's and 8's... there are shit load of OUTSTANDING players on this forum.

Why would this forum be loaded with 3's and 4's for? They are that low a skill level for a reason..

strong 6 here btw.. i should be a 7 but it's hard enough to get out on the tables I play on as is.

My guess is that most of the people that picked 9 are liars. I would expect there to be a lot of 6s and 7s, but the disproportionate number of 9s ranks pretty high on the bullshit meter to me.

Why would you say that? If I've heard correctly, the top flight players in the APA are basically B players with the occasional A. There are plenty of B players and above that frequent this forum. There are probably more B and above players that post regularly here than lower level players Hence more 9s than other ranks.

I am a weak 3, just ask JDB.

On other days, I'm a strong 7, but then there are days where I am ranked a 9. Occasionally, I'm an 8, but there is the chance that I'm a 5 or 6. I spoke to my League Operator and he said it all depends on the number of warm up strokes I take and how long they are. In reality, it's all very confusing.

9 here. Quitting the APA this session due to the 23 rule. Like someone else mentioned, watching 2's smash balls around the rails for hours at a time is a miserable experience.

I would imagine that the average skill level of someone who frequents this forum is much higher than just a random smattering of APA players.

People who play this game well live the game. Its pool on the brain all the time, on and off the table.

Additionally, most 9s quit due to the 23 rule. It sucks having to find new 2s every session just to play. Its not fun.

Bullshit! There aren't that many 9s.

I still don't know what all that A player B player C player shit means. It's seems very confusing and subjective.

I agree with what you're saying but I'd be willing to bet that half the people who said they were 9s aren't 9s. I think ironically that many of the people who answered the poll and made their skill levels higher than they really are are the same people who pad their innings to keep their skill levels down.

As a comedian you're a strong 4.

Right on! It's like one of those Snickers bar commercials. 'Not going anywhere for a while? Have a snickers.'

I just moved to a 5 two weeks ago after spending 6 weeks as a 3 and then 5 or 6 months as a 4.

After reading the above posts, I'm not even supposed to be here. drat!

I would expect to find a higher representation of 7, 8 and 9 handicaps frequenting a pool forum than the lower handicaps.

i answered 4, i seem to be stuck and cant get over my mental flatulence so that i can move up. i am one or two shots away from being able to run a rack once in a while but always seem to find new and unusual ways to screw up. thats why i joined this forum, to try to learn and improve but its to me that i should not even be reading this stuff?

If there are any doubts about players skill levels and they are still a current player just have them post their session statistics or team roster from the apa website. That shows a players skill level.
