I'd have to Vote for the Original Chris's Billiards in Chicago.

And Shooters in Minneapolis.

I haven't been to Hard Times yet though. What about down South & South East?

I'd have to say Bensingers, though I have a very soft spot for the no-name pool hall I hung out in as a kid just north of town.

Currently it's Hard Times in L.A. for me.

The coolest hall I have been to would be CR Billiards in Coon Rapids MN. (by the twin cities). The layout, tables, and employees are top notch. I wish we had a place like CR's in Duluth. I would be there in a heart beat. The only drawback to CR's is there is only one 9ft and its a private table. I also Like Jimmy's pro billiards.

It would have to be Hi Cue Billiards Elizabeth NJ .It's been closed for years but the best of the best went there and I will never forget the entire back wall had stadium seating to watch the matches. Best Place Ever IMHO

The nicest place I've been in my work travels across America has to be Best Billiards in my old home town of Las Vegas. Full of 9' Diamonds and they have the Rolls Royce of pool tables there: Italian made Hermelin 5' x 10' with a thermo-regulated slate. I loved playing Straight Pool on this table but I could only manage a 25 ball run. This place has it all. Plus Max Eberle is there frequently, author of the great book, Zen Pool. Not to mention the Incredible food.

2nd to this is Hi Cue Billiards in Arlington VA. Awesome huge room But be careful in the parking lot...

My favorite local place here in SE PA is the soon to be gone D & D Billiards. This is where I first saw straight pool just over two years ago now, got to watch and learn (i.e. rack) from a straight pool master Andy Toth before he moved but really all the guys here have really helped my game. Come visit us before Oct 30th as this place will be yet another statistic.

Pool Garden in Tampere, Finland

There was 20 full size gold crowns and atmosphere that should be in every pool hall. There was seats in every wall so you could watch others playing etc.

Too bad city decided to demolish building where it was to build new living houses in there.

Nice to see this legendary room recognized. I grew up just a few towns away from Hi Cue, but it was closed by the time I got active in the game.

The room I really miss is the late, lamented Chelsea Billiards in NYC. Comet Billiards in Parsippany, NJ was another fine room that is no longer around.

Fav. Pool Hall

Park Billiards, Neptune NJ. I have watched Miz,Lasiter,Martin just to name a few. Neptune Joe learned to play there. How about Sam 1 poke Fauver? I also played at Ames. Boy i'm gettin old.

Q masters in VA awesome place

You mean the ORIGINAL Q-Masters on Sewell's Point Road in Norfolk, VA? The one that burned to the ground many years ago? Yes, I agree -- I spent many a night (and Navy paycheck) there!

Interesting choice. I haven't been in there in years, but having grown up in the area...that place is like something I wouldn't even want to step on.

My fav room ever closed a long time ago.

Cue & Cushion
Cottman St..... Roosevelt Mall
Phila, Pa

billiard palace

before it was the hard times in belflower ca, it was upstairs and called the billiard palace, heart attact jack, tweedy, and on occasion ronnie, keith. i have seen some great games there !!!!!!!

The original Table Steaks in Edgewater, CO.
Open 24/7
I loved that stinky old pool hall, and the fights were legendary.

It would have to be Shooters in Huntsville Alabama. They have 7ft Diamond tables with blue simonas cloth. Those are the best tables I have shot on and the atmosphere is great too.

I've been to some good ones!

Magoo's in Tulsa

Q-Masters in Virginia Beach

Fargo Billiards and Gastropub in Fargo North Dakota

But I would have to say my favorite is Jamaica Joes in Midwest City Oklahoma!

If you haven't been there, you should check it out. It's a great place with tons of pool. Lot's of tournaments, and plenty of local action.

Check it out!

My favorite of all time was the Billiard Academy in Oakbrook/Ladson SC. It's been closed for many years now but I still have fond memories of that place. Tony Ellin was a regular there as well as Johnny Archer when he was in town to visit Tony. The place had 4 9 footers and about 8 - 10 bar boxes.
