This is occasionally discussed here. The last time we went throughout top 5 or top 10, Chohan was near the top, Efren was at the top. The situation is always fluid and changes as new guys come up.

With Shane winning the Derby one pocket last year, and now winning the two premier one pocket tournaments this year (Derby & US Open), would you consider him the top one pocket player in the world?

Who is your top 5-10 one pocket players in the world right now? If you can rank them even better.

Shane is definitely showing his prowess at One Pocket. He's learning the game and is not just a "shooter".

I would give him the nod for the top one pocket player in the world if he beats Efren in a race to 10 in a TAR money match of $20,000 or more (total). Until then, Efren is still the KING in my opinion.

I know Shane has been playing Efren regularly and is picking up speed all of the time. It may be that Efren has slipped on his execution enough for Shane to beat him more often than not but until I see a large money match with my own eyes, I will have to stay with Efren.

Shane's meteroric rise in One Pocket in the last few years is PHENOMENAL. The guy can play anything he puts his mind to.

:confused:I'm totally confused...my whole view of one-pocket is falling apart.
A British player wins the a-side....
...and some bar-box player from South Dakota wins it?;)

Ronnie Allen must be scratching his head.

Yes, while Ronnie scratches his head...

Today's players are doing to the game what Ronnie did decades ago. It is a-changing, it appears.

You left the Freezer off the list?
..that was COLD...

Funny and true!

where would Gentile fit in on the list?

And purely out of respect, I'm inclined to agree with JoeyA on Efren until The South Dakota kid mows him down for a good pot.

I guess I have a soft spot fer the older fellas. 'Specially the real lethal ones.

best,

I think there are a several players that are on the bubble of the top 10 and trade spots depending on how the balls are rollin for them.

Top 5 top 17 same difference.

But all good answers!

Shane
Efren
Alex
Parica
Frost

Time is catching up to Efren. Shane is catching up to one pocket. Frost has a special talent for one pocket, but too often his aggressiveness backfires against top-flight players...it seems to me.

I think this list can very quite a bit depending on the table they play on. You put them all on a table with 4" pockets it becomes more of a traditional one pocket game. Then my list would be
Efren
Frost
Django
Alex
Correy

True

It seems that the pockets they are playing on at the Riviera are quite wide
