After the voting is finished for the upcoming IPT challenge match and the announcement is made that it is PPV, how many of you will actually purchase it? I for one will not give a dime to the IPT and KT. I predicted that this is the way it will unfold and I hope I'm wrong, but it seems that all this voting is just a way of creating hype for the viewers to buy the PPV. That coupled with the fact that no mention of "Free" match has been made, leads me to believe that my prediction of this marketing ploy will come to fruition.
 
Shoddy camera work, high likelihood of broadcast failure.... Who in the hell would pay?

I won't buy it unless it involves some of the people I want to see.

Same with a TAR PPV. If they are showing what I want to see and i am here to watch it, then I will buy it.

Still wondering how long it will take for them both (TAR and IPT) to realize how much they need a downloadable version of their PPV's. They miss alot of business because of people not being able to watch. If anyone could buy the feed and download it anytime they want for personal viewing, they would sell alot more PPV's.

It's like I have said many other times, all other pay per views are easily recordable
 
It may not seem like much but $10 here and $15 there starts to add up. My cable bill that inlcudes internet goes up a few dollars a month, price of gas goes up, everthing only goes up a few pennies that all adds up to a lot of dollars for me.

Their excuse is: "It is only a few pennies more." If it is only a few pennies more than why do you have to charge me for those few pennies. Give it to me for free.

Don't know why KT has got into the pool business or what his motive is but I wish he would stay out of it. I think he has done more harm than good.

agreed to a certain extent - but it depends on the cost. i'd pay a couple of quid if i liked the players but that's about it. i don't like the side table camera view and the commentary enough to be certain i'd pay.
 
yeah go ahead give your CC info to KT and you will still be arguing with KT and your bank this time next year trying to get all the coma cozy charges reversed because you will be getting charge for a PPV once a month for $79.95........ I wouldnt give KT no personal info about myself what so ever.

Some can really think how he made all his money hoping people didnt call the bank and get charges reversed that he charged your CC.

yes, it's hypothetical in that I'm asking would the people buy if it becomes a PPV format. When they first started with the Johnny/Earl match I posted my theory on how it would all pan out. I thought they would do a few challenge matches for free and get the sponsors and fan base on board then hit us with a PPV with a highly anticipated match. When Sigel alluded to his rematch with Efren in the first match I assumed that it would be the first PPV, but now with the fan voting and the Sigel/Efren rematch KT thinks he has created enough buzz to support PPV challenge matches.

I hope I'm wrong and they continue to be free, but we all know that KT is in it for the money and only the money so his marketing has to be leading to something and this is the most logical scenario.
 
Have all the challenge matches only been 5k to the winner? That number is comical considering the hype KT tries to put into this.

Additionally, I would never support this crap because the IPT was formed as a way to support all the game's top players, even the "workaday" pros not in, say, the top 30. He asked these people to put their lives on hold for a long, long time and now he's dropped them all in favor of the Stricklands, the Manalos, the Deuels, etc.

I am not saying they don't deserve to make a good living, but my hunch is they will be alright no matter what happens with the IPT. When the scandal was breaking, someone posted about one of the workaday pros sleeping in his car because he lost all his money on the IPT. Is KT calling this guy to invite him to challenge matches???

Such a disgrace.

what - a disgrace because he's not just going to keep pouring millions of his own dollars into something that's not bringing him a profit? his plan may have been flawed but he gave it a go on a scale unlike any other promoter ever has. i'm not a huge fan of these little challenge matches either but hopefully they're just a preliminary step towards getting another IPT tournament off the ground. which will be good for pool. because i can't imagine these little challenge matches are worth the effort if that isn't the big goal.
