When your at the bar and your playing with someone who knows how to shoot...

If they are a good player most likely they have a cue. Why dont hey have it at the bar? Dont want it damaged by a drunk, dont need it to shoot good, dont want it damaged by themselves when they get drunk. Only 2 people can use my cues other than me. My father who taught me to shoot, and my best friend that i shoot with 2-3 times a week. Just saying if they dont trust there cue their y should i trust them with mine.

99% of the time , no . nobody , nowhere , nohow ! shaft repair is annoying and expensive.
But if it's near last call ,and she's redheaded , and there's a possibility that I might get my shaft burnished later . . . .
but 99% of the time , he_ _ no!

..will you offer your cue to them if they're using a crappy ol' barstick? Not talkin a money game either, straight up bar rule 8 ball.
Usually at first I'm pretty picky about my cue but put a couple in me and ill let any pool shooter try my cue (unless you look like a slob). I kinda look at it like wanting to even the odds. I'd rather win based on skill, not because of the crappy bar cue.
What's yall's take on this??

if it's a friend of mine i'll offer. if it's someone i don't know then they're on their own.

The old expression comes to mind: It's 95% the Indian, 5% the arrow.

Nobody's getting to use my arrow. Before offering up my cue to anyone, I'd play a house stick, too, if they feel it will even the odds, but it really doesn't.

Best,

i paid good money to have the advantage of using my own cue. them not having their own cue is their own problem

My thoughts exactly. If I felt that I had an unfair advantage and wanted to "test" myself against the other player, I'd break my cue down and play off the wall.

I've got a 3x7 case so I started carrying an extra cue. Seems I've always got a friend that needs a cue for some reason. Stolen, pawned,or forgotten. Stopped loaning my good ones after I got one back with dings covering the shaft. Put a joint in a valley and it actually shoots real nice. No more problem.

Absolutely not my playing cue :yikes: that would be too much. I did let our team captain borrow one of my other cues the other night for a League match as he did not have time to go home and get his because of working late.

Actually...I disagree with your disagreeing. I have buddies that own their own cues, but will actually take a beaver-chewed barstick off the wall and hand you your a$$ with it. It's the Indian, not the Arrow.

I disagree with YOUR disagreeing.
Can you imagine a gunfighter not maintaining his equipment?
I've had people ask me for weight. If their cue is poorly kept
i usually give it.
Had a guy with a Balabuska ask me for the 8 once.He had
after-market shafts - 14mm with flat tips - I should be arrested
for what i did to that man's bankroll.

I will let most people use a cue, maybe even my main playing cue. It is only wood.
